Well, ToM kind of derailed my weight loss a bit. I've been feeling a little demotivated since my ToM always makes me feel as if I've gained 100s of pounds even though it's more like 3 or 4 in water weight and bloating. I have great support at home, but I just felt all kinds of blah this week.

Good news is that people at work are REALLY noticing my weight loss. I got a comment today about how HUGE my pants are. Picture Mc Hammer's old pants from his popular days. That's what my current pants look like. Granted, I neither gained nor loss weight (from last week) that I can see, but since I always gain around 3 lbs I'm probably actually in the late 180s instead of early 190s.

I measured myself and I've lost more inches everywhere. I think I'm the only woman here that wishes for a B cup rather than a D cup (but I've had large bits forever). Work tests me sometimes, they don't force me or say negative things, but they always have free food and I REALLY miss having a yummy Asiago chicken sandwich from Wendy's or mmmmmmm french fries with salt. Yum.

But I still have a long way to go so I tell people 'not trying to be antisocial, but I've got 50ish more pounds to lose and I can't indulge no matter how badly I want to.' They understand. My doctor has noticed the difference. Told him I lost the 13 lbs from Jenny (had to tell him YES I'm still eating, just smaller portions). Didn't want him thinking I was doing anything that would hurt my health.

But hopefully, once the dreaded visitor packs its bags and leaves until next month, I'll start losing again. I'm hoping I lose another 13 lbs in a month. Well, thanks for listening just needed a little vent outlet.

Sorry you're having a rough time especially with the TOM but fortunately you know it's temporary.

I also hope that you do lose 13 lbs or more this month BUT if you don't (and VERY few people do), remember that this isn't just a diet. It's a way of looking at food FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

Yeah, that's a tough one to swallow but seriously, hon, for most of us it was the fast food and poor choices that got us here in the first place.

Now no one is saying that you'll NEVER be able to have fries or a "yummy Asiago chicken sandwich from Wendy's" again, BUT those "treats" are going to have to be VERY OCCASIONALLY - like a couple of times a year. Yeah, it sucks, but unless you want to end up back where you started, it's just a reality check. :(

You are doing sooooooo well - better than most of us could ever dream - so please don't get discouraged. Your weight (like most of us) didn't happen overnight and the slower and more deliberately you lose it, the better your body will adjust to your new lifestyle and eating habits so that you'll find keeping the weight off easier.

I don't know how old you are but you've probably been eating poorly (like most of us) for most of your life - possibly decades - so give yourself the time it will take to lose the weight and change your eating habits forever. Okay? :)

Hang in there. It DOES get easier. And, yes, there are some temptations that will be thrown in your face from time to time (I was working at a party last night and someone thought they'd be nice and bring me a plate of pastries - eek!) but it WILL get easier to resist them - especially when you slip into your skinny jeans, a bikini or whatever it is that you picture yourself wearing AND when you start being healthier because you won't have weight-related illnesses. And won't THAT be a better feeling than chomping down on some empty calories. :)

Sending good thoughts your way. Your TOM will pass and so will that extra weight. ;)
