This is the first time I've gone out to dinner at a restaurant since starting JC. I've read great things about the lower calorie options at apple bees and so decided to try it. I got one glass of red wine. Our table ordered appetizers of potato skins and chicken wings. Sitting at the table in my new smaller jeans I said no I'll wait for dinner. I enjoyed my wine and then had the ww Cajun lime tilapia which was also in the JC dining out guide. Was absolutely fabulous. Just goes to show you can go out with others, make good choices, and enjoy. I did not feel deprived at all.

Thanks JC!

Good for you! I'm proud of you! :) Keep up the great work!

Oh, and as for the wine, it's loaded with sodium so double your water intake tomorrow. :)

Good for you!! Really I think the key is to keep remembering WHYyou are on this journey in the first place. Then it is easy to say no thank you!! Another tip from the Spangle book is to say "later". Only later never comes and nobody notices!!!

YAY for you!!!

I have enjoyed restaurant meals since I began Jenny and it hasn't been a problem. I always look at the menu online in advance so I know just what to order and won't be tempted by anything delicious-sounding on the menu. I also cook up some broccoli before I go if I have a chance, to fill up before I get there. As long as you make good choices, dining out can be an enjoyable part of a successful Jenny program.

Yay for you!

Those skinnier jeans are a great idea to wear as a reminder of how great we are looking and feeling.

I've noticed that the sodium levels of restaurant food are higher than my JC foods and even cooking at home. My fingers feel it later that day. So i take extra note to have plenty of water after to take care of that.
It's great that restaurants are having better options added to their menus now- very helpful.

I was curious about your statement concerning sodium in wine. I looked it up and from what I can see it has about 5-7mg of salt per 5 oz. serving. That's pretty negligible, thankfully :)

Wine itself does not contain much sodium, however alcohol itself is a diuretic and thus with out proper hydration your body tends to bloat. So drink plenty of water! :)

Honestly the Cajon Lime Tilapia is a great choice calorie wise (only 310 woo!), but at 2160mg of sodium, I wouldn't weight myself on the scale for a day or 2 :P after eating it.

See! Once again, I learned something. I was told it was sodium in wine and I know that whenever I drink it, I'm bloated, so I just assumed it was the sodium. Now I find out it's the alcohol. Good to know. :)

Either way, all I know is that whenever I have a drink, I have to double my water because my rings won't budge.

Thanks for the clarification! :)
