I had my first consultation today where I got my first week's food and will start the program tomorrow. I'm really excited about this program since it's not really depriving me of anything but rather teaching me portion and self control. I look forward to going through this journey with all of you October newbies.
I'm about to go play around on the site a little to see how to get a picture and ticker, I really enjoyed reading about everyone's losses!!!!

My name is Carli and I joined October 18th. In the last few days I have felt proud of myself for finally doing something about my weight. I have been on the heavier side most of my life and just decided enough is enough. I'm still young, (only 19) and just decided I don't wanna battle with my weight for the rest of my life, I have so much more to look forward to that I just need to do this now before I feel there is no turning back. I go in to get weighed on Tuesday and I really hope I see results, I have been weighing myself everyday since i started and so far i have not noticed any difference, I know its only been 5 days, I am just eager to start seeing results! I know a lot of people who have been successful on Jenny Craig and I just hope I am to! I wish everyone going through this the best of luck as well! Stay strong everybody

MissB I am interested in veggie recipes too - I am getting tired of asparagus or broccoli with lemon! LOL Temeka, LOL about the omelette portion! I was so afraid I would be starving all the time on JC because of portion sizes, but that hasn't been the case at all.

Also I like to use the eggplant as french fries, slice them up like french fries and cook in a pan with some olive oil spray... Though I'm not sure if I can still make this since I don't know if the olive oil cooking spray is a free food... hmmm I need to research that, it doesn't have any fat or calories...

Temeka, you need to put your picture in the "avatar" thing, too, for it to show up with your posts. Re: exercising...the kind I'm doing is NOT ENOUGH.

It turned out to be a nice, warm, thick comfort food kind of thing. Besides the tiny amount of olive oil, this is all free foods. It made at least 6 or 8 cups, so I can't imagine the olive oil counts much. I plan to use it as homemade soupitizer to volumize my dinners for the next few days.
Tomorrow morning I weigh-in. Wish me luck!!! I'll post my progress around lunchtime.

Joined on Sunday and started the program today. I've been engaged since late January and tried Weight Watchers. Became completely obsessed with food and it just didn't work for me. South Beach required too much planning and I only lasted two weeks, although I felt healthy as ever. I just can't live without variety in my diet.
To add insult to injury, I moved in with the future hubby and my habits have spiraled out of control. I haven't been this heavy since I was twelve with lots of baby fat. And it really crept on fast. I think I gained about twenty pounds in the past six months (which is completely unhealthy) after all the social eating, celebratory meals and movie nights were said and done.
I'm quite mortified that I bought my wedding dress and planned to lose weight, but instead gained weight. The sales girl at the store told me this usually happens with brides, but I told her, pish posh, I won't be gaining any weight. And I did! Oh I did.
So today was a good day. I almost feel like it was too much food (I know this is a regular complaint with those starting the plan, but really, I absolutely NEVER eat this much. Maybe it's that my meals were more calorically dense and now they are more about volume). Either way, eating popcorn after my dinner was good and bad. Good because it was delicious and bad because it felt like I shouldn't be eating it at nine in the evening.
Anyway, long story short, I'm here and so happy. I would love to lose forty pounds before the wedding and get back to my dating weight!

I too cook Eggplant quite a bit..just about like you make it. Brussel Sprouts are quick and tasty too. I just buy a bag of the frozen ones...cook a bowl full in the microwave and then spray with ICBINB (I can't believe it's not butter). Cucumber and onion slices with Ken's Light Sundried Tomato dressing on them..mmmmmmm Salads, broccoli & Cauliflour... Spinache is good too,to me anyways...and Popeye!
Keep up the good work,ladies!!
