I too am a October newbie, I started Oct 3rd, I am down 7.5 lbs thus far. Next week when I weigh in I hope to at least lose 3 lbs but 4 would be great. I plan to increase the exercise each week, I have a long way to go due to the fact that I want to lose 100lbs. So I will will be a constant on the boards looking for new ideas and motivation. Thus far the boards have been a GREAT help to me.

Hi everyone, I am also an October newbie, I started on the 14th. This is my third time on the program and hope my last! I was doing well my last time on the program and kept my weight off for about 5 months. I am a stress eater and gained about 13 pounds in the past 6 months since my son has been deployed :( Then it dawned on me if I keep up at this rate, he won't recognize his "fat momma" when he comes home. So I am going to lose this weight before he comes home! Look forward to sharing with all of you.

WOW awesome thread we have going on here folks! :D I'm excited to see many October newbies like myself. Today I had my 2nd weigh-in and ::drum rolls:: lost 2.8 lbs!!!

I liked the news but it didn't really hit me until I did the math and realized I've lost 7.6 lbs in two weeks! B)

I had so many challenges this past week and crazy temptations. First, food was ordered during my work training and of course all my co-workers picked PIZZA! I ate in advance, snacked my apple while they enjoyed their Domino's and I survived. My second challenge was traveling to my home state to visit family and participate in a football tailgate. Once again I planned ahead, ate in advance and brought fruit and snacks to the tailgate. I avoided the hamburgers, hotdogs and soda. Kudos to me!

I'm so proud of everybody this week, so far we've all lost whether it be .1 or 10, doesn't matter. We stuck to it and motivated each other. :P

Hello Everyone! I joined JC on Oct 13th, right before thanksgiving! (I am from Canada) I have lost about 7 lbs so far, but am finding it hard to stay completely on track. I have had some issues with cravings and giving in to them. But I am obviously eating less than I used to because I am losing weight! I am also finding the activity part hard, as I was just diagnosed with MS and my legs are numb and weak right now. This is my second time at JC. As many others, I have tried many times to loose weight. I lost all the weight once, and stayed at my goal for 4 years. But then the weight crept back on and so much more. My start weight was 284lbs, and I am now down to 276.8lbs, after 2 weeks. I have never been in a chat room before, or a forum?!! But reading others posts motivated me, so I am going to give this chat thing a try! My goal for today is to stay on track all day and not eat any foods not on my menu for the day! My long term goal is to get to 200lbs and then to re-assess and make a new goal. I wanted to make each goal a realistic goal for me to attain, because I am hoping that will keep me on track. Wish me luck! Oh, how do you get that little weight loss ticker on here? Jen :)

Welcome Jen! I'm with you -- I just want to get to 200 and then reassess, since it's been a long time since I've seen the other side of 200 lbs. I'm sure that losing weight will help with the MS -- my sister and three cousins all have it, so I know the challenges it presents.

I wish you a lot of luck -- I can't figure out the ticker, but I'm working on it!!

hi ladies, October newbie checking in. Just had my consult and got my first week's meals today. My first time on JC (or any other plan like this). I'm starting with the $20 for 20... I'm 44 years old and wow, taking off 20 lbs has become so much harder. I finally decided, instead of shopping for new clothes that make me feel good about how I look now, that I have an entire closet full of clothes that I love. Just not on me!! RRR. So, when I think about cost, I think about all those 'new' clothes I'll have to wear (and feel great in). I also want an energy increase. I have demons that I'm a bit afraid of overcoming... eating out and social drinking. Two of the fun highlights in my life. But I guess that's part of the tradeoff. Glad to be here and looking forward to having such great support!

Holly :D

Non-scale victory, fellow Oct. starters!!! Last night my cuddly 9yo gave me a hug around my middle while I was standing at the counter making dinner, and she said, "Mom! You're getting smaller!" :D

On Tuesday, I had a disappointing week 2 weigh-in, pretty much holding steady from week 1...but yesterday morning I was down 2 on my own scale. So I am hopeful that week 3 will be good. I'm not changing my ticker, though, til my weekly weigh-in confirms the loss! :)

 Hi all, I'm Diane and I'm new this month too! I justed started yesterday and was nervous about being successful as I have been battling my weight most of my life. I have to say though that I am really enjoying everything so far. The food is really good and I haven't been too hungry. I love how easy it is and that I don't have to think about what I'm eating or weigh the food or count points! Yippee! No going back now!

We can do this girls!

Hello again everyone!
Well, I am so glad to say that I did it!! I made my first day on Jenny without adding any extra cheat foods, like a couple chips or a choclate bar! I have been on Jenny now for 2 weeks and am really liking seeing the pounds drop! I weigh in tomorrow, but on my scale have lost another couple pounds, can't wait to add that to my ticker, now that I have finally figured it out! Jen B)
