You can have a teaspoon of olive oil on your salad, a tsp. of peanut butter, an ounce of nuts, a tsp. of butter or margarine on toast...pretty much anything you think of as being a "fat." :)

Congrats on the weight loss so far! Keep up the GREAT work! :)

Thanks, ladies! It's my second try at maintenance. And, in an ironic twist, it was nuts that actually caused me to regain 10 lbs.

My doc had suggested I try eating nuts to aid my...um...digestion, shall we say. :P

Anyway, the problem was that I wasn't eating just an ounce. I was eating a half a jar! YIKES!

Granted, nuts are a good fat but they ARE a fat and four to six ounces daily was DEFINITELY not what the doctor ordered. Yes, it helped my "digestion" but it sure killed me on the scale. :o

The only suggestion about the nuts is to get one that isn't loaded with salt or you're going to add insult to injury.

And, yes, as Helen said, a slice of avocado would be great. I also picked up a pack of Wholly Guacamole today in 100 calorie packs in the supermarket. And that would make a great snack/spread on a JC sandwich, burger or a burrito or something like that and it would also give you the needed fat. Yummy! :)

Like Melissa said, Almonds are a good choice for a fat.. and if I may offer a suggestion, I don't buy the bottles or big bags of almonds..only the little individual 100 cal. packs. I don't trust myself when it comes to nuts..can get a little heavy handed and would probably end up eating the whole jar! The little packs are perfect for me..they cost a lil' more but are sooo worth it!! :D

***Actually, 2 tsp. of peanut butter is a fat.
-It is good on celery or with some apple slices. If I weigh it, 2 tsp. is .4 on my digital scale.
