I weighed in yesterday... gained a pound. At first I was a mad at myself but then I went for a long walk with my dog and got over it. I lost the stupid pound once and I will again. The weight will come off sooner or later. We get a few days a year to enjoy family and friends. I have decided that I am going to do just that. I don't want to be that annoying person who is always so worried about food that I can't see the big picture. I cooked a great meal and I enjoyed it! One measly pound is not the end of the world...

Good for you! Just make sure that you don't "enjoy" too many of those "special" occasions. :)

Great attitude!

I agree terrible!!! Up one pound at Thanksgiving is a nonscale victory!!! Think of all the Thanksgivings you were probably up 3 or 4 or more. Those pounds were full of calories and fluid retention, just like this one, but this one will be much faster to go away because it is much smaller and probably more fluids than calories!!!

I weigh in tomorrow and I am not even caring about a loss...to maintain or have a tiny (i.e., one lb) gain over a major food holiday is a big success!!!

KEEP GOING TERRIBLE, YOU ARE DOING GREAT!!!

Scale did not move today...ARGH!!! Stupid number was stuck where it was last week. I am going to kick up the exercise this week. The weather has turned a lot colder here and I need some ideas from my fellow members about DVD's or other media that some of you have found helpful. I do better outside but have to find some new activities. Let me know.

Terrible - not moving is better than moving backwards. Especially during the holidays! Zero pounds is a non-scale victory this time of year!!! At least for me...I have always gained a pound or two over Thanksgiving and Christmas, then New Years...so I start the year with 4 or 5 to lose. Making it through Thanksgiving with no gain is GOOD WORK!

Now. We have hard work coming up these next weeks. I am trying to drink more water than usual, walk every day instead of only 4x, and skip as many processed sugars as possible. So, if I'm allowed a JC dessert...well, a 3rd piece of fruit that day is better. That way when I'm at one of the hundred parties coming up and I have a glass of wine, or whatever, I've worked it into the weekly plan.

Don't kill yourself over this week. No gain is still winning!!! :)

You may think you did terrible, Terrible, but I think you did just fine. :)

If you stayed on the plan 100% and didn't lose it just means that you'll see the results next week - providing you still stay on plan.

As for no exercise, yes, it's important, but even if you couldn't exercise at all and just went about your normal activities and stuck to plan, you still can lose - much less, but still a loss.

Personally I like the Leslie Sansone walking tapes but there is everything in the world out there. Do you have cable TV? If so, try to find Exercise TV. That way you can sample a lot of the different workout videos available out there. That's how I first came across Leslie Sansone.

Hang in there. It will get better soon. Just stay on plan and the weight will drop before you know it. :)

Thanks girls!!! Its 19 degrees outside and I just got back from my daily 2 mile loop I take my dog on. I never really count this because its just what I committed to do when I adopted an "active breed" at the pound. The dog is in great shape and I'm working on it. Taking care of me is something that has good days and bad days but there is still a lot more good!

Brrrrrrrr!!!!! Now you know why I moved to Florida!

You're such a good "mommy" for still taking your fur baby out for a long walk even in the below freezing cold. :)

Hello to my taking care of me buddies! We had computer issues at my house that I hope are finally resolved. What did we do before the internet? Holidays are over and it is so much easier to stay on track. I convinced my husband to give Jenny a try - he lost 10 lbs the first week! No fair!! How come men just have to give up beer? ARGGH!!!! I knew that would happen. Oh well.....I'll keep doing what I'm doing and I'll get there eventually.

Terrible, I know what you mean about men. It's how I know God is a man! LOL

Seriously, if my husband skips lunch, he loses five pounds and his waist already only is a 32!!!!

So NOT fair but it is what it is. But there is an upside. He'll just look thinner when the weight comes off and he'll likely wear the same clothes and have his same style. You, my dear, when you're at a thinner weight will be able to wear even more stylish (and likely sexy) clothes and people will comment how incredibly (more) hot you've become! :D
