Welcome back Deb!
So sorry to hear about your mother...I also lost my dad last year, so I know the grief you feel my friend.
Yes, HBP is a horrible and devastating disease to have. I had it when I first started JC.....one of the many health problems I had and why I joined. I have since been able to stop all meds since losing down to my goal weight, yayyy me!
I am so glad you rejoined and would love to be here for you to support and just be a listening ear. Please come here often......give the "General" forum a look as well, there are lots more threads to read and where most of us hang out.
My thoughts and prayers are with you hun

Thats great deb! Its always easier to workout when I have someone with me.....makes time go by faster, can you tell I'm not a fan of exercise? lol. I do it, but not w/out a fight with myself first. ha
Its really hard to start a new eating habit, but once you do, the way you feel is priceless....more energy, and a better sense of self worth!....but you are so right girl, its not easy to keep going....it takes alot of self talk and positive re-enforcement for sure.
Hey, have you ever read the book 100 days of weight loss by Linda Spangle? If not, you will LOVE her book. That book is what kept me on the right track through my journey.....give it a try, alot of us here on the forums have read it.....we even had a thread about it at one time and Linda Spangle herself joined in. I wrote to her and ask if she would and I couldnt believe it when she actually did. ha
Here is the link to the thread where Linda joined in our discussion group.

I'm so proud of you for caring enough about your health to want to do this.
My BP was always ok but my cholesterol (a huge family history of problems) was out of control so I've been on meds for years. But I lost the weight and my numbers came down so much I don't need the meds anymore. Yes!!!
You have great motivation and that will help see you through all this. And you have ALL OF US supporting you. We can do anything with the support of each other.
Keep reading and posting. We want to see how well you're doing and get your input as well.
You're going to do great!

This bunch of gals are great at keeping everyone motivated and moving!! My youngest daughter needs to lose some weight as well but cannot afford Jenny. I know that she is watching me and seeing what I am doing and that has made a huge impact on her. She has lost at least 15 pounds as a result!! We are such an influence on our younguns.... even when they don't say so, they are watching us.
Keep coming back!!
