Looking for a buddy

This is my first visit to Jenny Craig. I have never tried a guided weight loss plan before.
I used to be so slim and felt really great about my body a few years back, I was really active and in a relationship, but then after my last relationship ended I moved to a new place got a desk job and then the pounds kept piling on. I also started feeling a bit depressed and that didn't help my wight either. My major health concern 6 months ago was to stop smoking, which I have finally accomplished, and I am proud of that, but quitting has caused me to eat more snacks and keep gaining wight.
I felt really sceptical about joining Jenny Craig until I went to find out more, I just feel really guilty that its come to this point, that I need to pay for a service in order to maintain my weight but, this society just drove me to it. I wish I was motivated enough to do it on my own, but I guess I need help, so I have to accept the fact that a professional can help me, but I think that having a weight loss buddy would really help me more than anything. Its so good to know that I am not the only one that this has happened to. I would love to find a buddy who can encourage me to excersize more, and I would do the same for you. I really want to succeed at this weight loss thing and I am ready to change my outlook on life.

Don't beat yourself up about the weight gain and/or needing help in losing it. That's why we're all here and for the vast majority of us, this ISN'T the first time we've tried a planned diet program. It is, however, the EASIEST plan any of us have ever been on and I'm sure you'll find it the same as you.
Congrats on stopping smoking! If you can do that, you can do ANYTHING!
And you might be surprised to know that many people have quit smoking while on JC and have still managed to lose weight because they learned not to substitute one bad habit for another.
I know you came to find a buddy and if you don't find someone specific, guess what - you've just found a couple of dozen buddies of all ages, shapes and sizes who will be here to help support, motivate and help in anyway we can.
So come to the boards often to tell us how it's going, ask questions, rant about problems or rave about your successes. You've got buddies here - LOTS of them.

Welcome to JC! Congrats on making the commitment to be healthy again! I just joined JC a few weeks ago too and it would be great to have a buddy. I have been struggling with my weight since high school. I did weight watchers, which worked really well for me and I was down to my ideal weight of 140, and then the pounds started piling back on due to me suffering from major depression and the medicines I had to take.
I got married on July 17, and looking back on some of my pictures, I finally realized that my weight was out of control, and as hard as I was trying to fix it, I couldnt lose it on my own. I decided I needed to get help soon, or their would be major health consequences. So I went in, and I loved the staff at my JCC. My consultant has been very encouraging, and I have lost about 8 pounds so far> There is also a wide variety of delicious foods, and you can design your menu, so you arnt stuck eating foods you dont like.
Welcome and congrats again! I hope you have a good experience!
