I am having one heck of a week. I have to short sale my house - not for the reasons most are selling but because my 25 year marriage has ended. I am currently on disability and have no income (no job and state disability ran out and my workers comp case is still pending!), So at the age of 46 I am being faced with being litterally thrown out on the street. How does this happen?? I need to lose this weight so I can be healthy and more self confident, but right now I want to cry and eat ice cream... or pizza or both!! Please give me some suggestions! Thanks

I hope that you don't mean that you'll be totally homeless and that you have someplace to go with a family member or friend.
You said that you're on disability but I don't know if that means you're incapable of working at all. I've seen signs lately that the big box stores (Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc.) are hiring at least temporary workers for the holiday season. It might not be much but it is something.
I'm also not sure what your work skills are but there is a website called www.elance.com and, depending on your skills, you might be able to find some work assignments on there that you can bid on. These are all jobs you can generally do from home. It's worth looking into at least.
As far as diving into "bad" food, don't do it. It will only make matters worse. You will feel bad because you are going to then have not only extra weight to deal with but likely also guilt and further depression. You deserve better than that!
I wish I had something of true financial value to suggest but just know you're in my prayers.
Sending hugs,
Phyllis

First of all, I join the others by saying I am SO sorry for your marriage troubles, and losing your home.....very sad to say the least
Short sales are no fun either...not to mention how long and drawn out they can be. I tell ya, this is the time MOST would throw in the towel, but the mere fact that you came here asking for help speaks volumes.....you want and need to succeed.....and make it through this. I believe you can!!! ....by staying strong and relying on friends and family esspecially.
I will certainly keep you in my prayers as well......remember, even though you feel like all is lost, as long as you have breath & hope, you CAN survive!!!!!! This I know.

Maybe you could journal and just get out all the negetive feelings and then make a list of all the blessings (or positives) in your life. Even though everything seems so bleek right now,it really could be sooo much worse.
Could you get engrossed in a good book...or maybe put on some nice music and go for a power walk or take a bubble bath? Just trying to throw some suggestions out there for you.
I sincerely hope you are feeling much better...please keep us posted! You can do this!! We have faith in YOU!!

You do Account Payable? Then you should be able to find work online. There are a number of people I know who do accounting from home (receivable/payable, etc.).
Do check out Elance.com. I have found a number of lucrative writing jobs there. Some, I will admit, were very cheap - especially in the beginning until I built up a reputation on that site - but then I did find some really great work.
As far as your weight loss - WOW!!! That is soooo impressive! Keep up the great work (and stay away from the cheesecake - unless that's your snack for the day - LOL).
And Melissa is right - you are really pretty! Red is a great color for you!
Kiss the pooches for me.
Hope things work out for you SOON!!! You deserve it!
Phyllis
P.S. Prayers will continue to come your way.
