Meals on my own support???

She had NEVER explained how to do exchanges or how I should even go about giving it a try on my own.
So for now I am doing Jenny breakfast most of the time or a cereal that is a good exchange, a jenny lunch and a salad for lunch and a small serving of whatever I make for dinner for my family. I am still walking almost daily and eating Jenny snacks.
Does anyone else do dinners on their own?
Does this sound like a good enough plan??? I am nervous but can not afford to keep buying jenny 100%.

As far as your JC consultant, do you think you noticed a change in her after you announced that you would be purchasing less food? These consultants get a commission on the food they sell, but I would rather think that your counselor has your best needs in mind. Really cannot understand why she stated that she would talk you in two weeks instead of weekly. A change of consultant might be the best avenue for you. Very easy to do, just call the main number and request that someone else call you. I wish you well.

You said that you have trouble visually so the tray will help you but try this. Put what you think you should eat into a plate first and THEN transfer it to the tray to see if you guessed correctly. It will help you get more used to visually being able to tell what you need to eat.
I agree that unless you happen to love salads, try to switch it up so that you don't let the boredom factor slip in. Grilled, steamed or raw veggies are a good filler. I also stir fry veggies in Pam (like a frozen Japanese blend) and season it with garlic and ginger.
The exchanges are on the back of your planner that lists all of the foods available to order. But if you don't have them, here they are:
On the 1200-1500 calorie level:
Breakfast:
1 meat
2 starch
1 milk
1 fat
Lunch
2 meat
2 starch
1 vegetable
1 fat
Dinner
4 meat
2 starch
1 vegetable
1 fat
Daily - 2 fruits and 1 snack
Joan is right, they do make money on commission and she had no right to tell you that she would only talk to you every two weeks! Call the 800 number and request another JCC and tell them why you're switching.
When you're on maintenance you usually only go in once a month. But when I was still on the plan and doing several MOMO a week I still saw my JCC every week. There's no reason you shouldn't be getting the same support. After all you're trying to do exactly what they want you to do - learn how to eat on your own and still lose (or maintain) your weight. So you need someone at JC who can review what you were doing and whether or not it is working.
You do have to keep better track of what you're eating MOMO so that your next JCC can advise you.
As far as eating what your family is eating, that's fine...to a point. You can't eat fried chicken, lasagna or chili if that's what you're serving your family. You still have to be sensible about it.
Try doing a MOMO a couple of times a week to start. Then as you get more comfortable with it and you're still losing weight, then you can increase it to more MOMO or DOMO.
You know there are some people who don't start doing MOMO until they hit goal. That works for some people but not everyone. You'll have to decide that on your own.
Good luck and let us know what happens with your JCC.

Just a note - these exchanges are for MOMOs - if you are doing a complete DOMO it is a bit different.
For 1200 calories it would be 5 starch, 5 meat, 3 milk, 2 fats and 2 fruit spread out through the day.
I find it a lot easier to do an entire day with exchanges than to do a meal here and there but that's just me. If you would like a couple of sample days - please PM and me and I'd be glad to help.

Just a heads up- if you're looking at your Halfway guide for the exchanges for a day on your own, there is a typo in there. On 1200 calories you only get two milk servings per day, not three. They haven't updated the guides to reflect that yet!
