Hi, I just finished my first week on the program. However, I noticed that the anytime bars which were scheduled to be my morning snack have 50% of the RDA for iron. My doctor has recommended a vitamin/mineral without iron. Does anyone have some idea what I can substitute. My consultant suggested a dairy but sometimes when I'm out and about, that's not as convenient as a bar. If you have a better idea, I'd love to hear from you.

I sometimes substitute a Snackwells Protien cereal bar. The calorie count is a little high, but sometimes it's worth it to avoid the bloat  Here are the stats:

Calories 140
Total Fat 5G
Saturated Fat 2g
cholesterol 0mg
sodium 115mg
Total carb 17g
Dietary Fiber 3g
sugar 6g
Protien 8g
vit A 15%
Vit C 0%
Calcium 15%
Iron 10%

Some people have also mentioned the Pria bar. Good Luck!!

I'm not an Anytime bar fan (lots of people aren't). All you have to do is to substitute a milk serving (low-fat cheese, 1% or skim milk, or a fat-free, sugar free yogurt) and a multi-vitamin (with or without iron) and you're all set nutritionally.

Yes, the replacement for the anytime bar is a milk serving and a multivitamin. If you want comething convenient while out and about, you can switch up your snacks and save the milk servings for later when you are home and take your fruit snack with you instead.

Thanks to all of you for your guidance. I also found some bars in health food stores that have a lower iron content.
