Looking for someone like me that plans to stay on the program for many months. I have already lost some weight, but need to keep at it. I am in my 50s and happy to get healthy again.

Hi Newbie!!! I'm Dana and I just returned to the program 2 months ago (after being away for about 2.5 years). This program is great and pretty convenient to my busy travel schedule. The food is really good, so that makes it easier to stay on track. I would suggest making sure that you have a counselor who you really like. I find that if you enjoy meeting with the person, that too goes a long way in helping you meet your goals. In the past I've visited with various counselors in the same center until I found the one or two that motivated me best. Just a suggestion.

How many pounds will you be losing? I have dropped 21lbs since I returned in mid-July. I will be losing 40 more. Therefore, I'm guessing that I will reach my goal weight around March/April of next year. I'd love to keep in touch with you and offer any support that I can (and as we progress we can help each other).

I live in North Carolina. What about you???

I am in my fifties as well and would love to have a buddy to cheer and vent with me. Your quote is just what I feel so thougbht I would see if we could become buddies.

I am not sure how much weight you have to lose, but I have about 80 lbs to go and have lost some.

I am also in my 50's and am in my 4th week on the program. So far I'm really loving the program and have found it much easier than Weight Watchers. Would love to be buddies with all of you. Have a great week!

Hi all you newbies - at least newbie to the boards if not the JC program. :)

There are a bunch of us here of all ages (I'm 62) and at all stages of our weight loss journeys.

I hit goal three years ago, gained back about 10 lbs. a couple of months ago, came back to JC before it got out of control and am pretty close to goal again (although I think I'm going to try to lose a few more this time).

Anyway, even though were all at different stages and ages, we're all here to support each other. You may have asked for a buddy but I suspect if you post often, you'll find a BUNCH of new buddies and we're all here to support each other no matter what your goal is or where we are near our goal.

We have people who have a few pounds to get to goal and a bunch who have hit goal and still come here to support each other and others who have a lot of weight to get there. But we're here for you as long as you'll need us, so visit the boards often. We can chat about what's going on in your life, how the JC plan is working for you, to answer questions and just give each other support.

This isn't just a diet. It's a change of the way we all look at food for the rest of our lives, so I hope to see you all often. :)
