Cossett, it's great that you have a supportive husband. That will make things so much easier for you. I'm lucky that way too.
While JC does have chat rooms, to be honest, there aren't many people that go into them very often but the boards are very active.
When you have questions, you can always go to your JCC or ask one of us. We're an opinionated group.

So chances are you're going to get a lot of advice from people and, as with anything else, use what you think will be helpful to you. For the most part, we all tend to agree on the major things.
Some people are more rigid about the program than others and some of us find that a certain amount of flexibility is necessary to stick with the plan over the long haul.
Understand that on average you'll lose 1-2 lbs. a week. You'll see your biggest loss in the first week or two. The more exercise you get, the more calories you'll burn.
Drink, drink, drink and drink. That's probably the most difficult thing for many of us and also make sure that you eat every 2-3 hours.
If you know you're going to be going out (going out with friends, have some special occasion coming out where you'll be dining out, etc.) and you know it in advance, tell your JCC so that you two can come up with a plan.
If it's a last-minute thing, try to stick with things like grilled chicken or fish, a little bit of some type of carb and tons of veggies. Basically at a restaurant, I'll ask for a "to-go" container and put one-half to three-quarters of my meal in it because restaurant portions are so huge. Then either my husband gets to eat it or I stretch out the remainder over several meals. I find that if I don't see it on my plate, I'm less likely to misjudge the size of the portions which you have probably come to realize are fairly small in the carb and protein area.
You can volumize your foods with veggies and if boredom starts to set in, experiment with different ways to cook things, add "free" stuff like salsa or limited amounts like a tbs. of fat-free sour cream. Spices will make a world of difference with lots of food because many people (especially me) tend to find the food a little on the bland side. But spicing it up is an easy way to make food taste even better.
Come to the boards and post often. You might find more people checking the GENERAL boards rather than the geographical area or age-specific boards. So that will result in you getting a wider range of people responding. And answer posts. The funny thing about that is that sometimes as you're trying to help someone else, you'll have revelations about your own life.
You can use the SEARCH option at the top of the page to find out something specific or just have fun looking through all of the posts.
The biggest thing to remember is that you're not alone on your journey. There are so many of us doing it with you or who have successfully completed their trip.
Looking forward to hearing about your successes!
Phyllis
