I DID!! We tried on Sunday but got totally rained out after 4.4 miles. So, yesterday we tried again. There is a railtrail bike path that is a total of about 25 miles. We did the first 5.2 and then turned around to go back. It was ALL UPHILL the entire way back. YIKES! Just a slight incline but an incline never the less. I burned some calories on that one!!

Marg thanks for starting this months thread. Glad to hear you and the pup are getting out for some walks.
Debbie welcome congrats on getting your ride in and burning all those calories.
Hope everyone else is doing well. Donna how did it go taking your son to school. I know it was so hard but I bet you burned some calories lugging all his stuff into the dorm. Angela how are things going with your mornings free? Georganne, hope things are going well after the storm?
I am so happy about August ending. I still need to get myself back on track as far as regular activity. My DH is doing better now but still has no appetite. I'm heading in the right direction, only 1.2lbs over my goal weight this morning. I'm thinking of joining a gym near me and or ordering some Leslie Sansone dvd's. My next race probably won't be until Thanksgiving, the 5k I did last year that was so much fun. Hope everyone is having a good busy week.

Nancy - Congrats on maintaining -- are you mainly eating your own food now?
As for me at least the scale is stable (up about 15-20 pounds from where I would like it to be), most of my work clothes still fit -- will have to lose some before I wear a few of my smaller suits. Have been walking a bit more lately but still should see if I can work in some strength training as well.
Well it is 6:15 here (the dog woke me early so we went out at 5:30) -- need to start preparing for the day.

Sorry I've been MIA...had some problems with my computer and now have it resolved. I'm ready to start posting again!
Well, my son is off to college. I cried about 20 minutes on the trip home--had to stop because the heat + crying made my head hurt bad. My DH and I had a heart to heart talk the rest of the way home--which didn't help the headache. Our goal is to work on our marriage.
Had our kite festival last weekend. I finally got paid and the windsock looked great. I'll post the YouTube link on the final installment on the windsock saga when it's loaded. I think it went really well. I'll be posting pictures of me in front of it later. It's funny how the project got bigger and I got smaller!
Have to run, will get to personal messages next time.

Debbie - WTG on making time for some lunch time walks.
We have had a houseguest for the past week so I think I have been a bit more active showing her around (walking around the neighborhood) and carrying extra groceries.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I done my best to be nice and polite. I know it's difficult keeping track of all the clients that a center may have and perhaps she's still working on making the job her own. I'm always one to give the benefit of the doubt. However, I schedule people all day too and I have developed relationships with our clientele. Even if I specifically don't remember each person, there is always something to jog my memory if we have met, spoken, or had contact of some kind. In a business that deals with people, this is a key factor.
Thanks for letting me vent about this. I may have to apologize to her, but I think that dealing with people and their time is important.

Just saw your post and I wanted to give you a big electronic hug for the frustration with your JC Center Manager. We all have our tipping points and obviously she hit your button one two many times. Think over the conversation and if you feel you were to rough then apologize and let it go. I for one do not think of you as a pushy broad. You are standing up for yourself and demanding good customer service.
As for me, I have definitely been in a funk and have not wanted to post. My new personal trainer has really been pushing me since I started with him in late August. I am doing more weight lifting with him and I am seeing results. It has opened my eyes to seek out new ways to move my body and I am getting a better appreciation of how core exercises work the body. Cardio is important but those core exercises are really key for me to establish good muscle tone. As for my walking, I continue to do this on a daily basis getting in over 10,000 steps on a daily basis. The MM band is giving me good information on my daily calorie burn.
As for my journey on Jenny Craig, I have definitely come to a fork in the road and its time for me to make the final push or declare goal and do maintenance. I'm not too certain what is driving my mood at this point and all I know is that I am upset, cranky, frustrated and just plain irritable. After last Saturday's weigh in I decided to take a two week break to regroup. Honestly I don't have the finances to buy JC food so I am currently eating down the excess in my freezer and pantry.
Hope everyone else is well and still moving!! Seriously exercise is key to a healthy and happy life. So many benefits!! Well I have to get to work so I wish you all a happy, productive & peaceful Wednesday!!

Debbie - Glad you are able to get your walks in -- never tried boxing myself but it could be a good indoor exercise option for the winter -- otherwise there are always exercise videos -- I know Nancy does some of the Leslie Sansone ones.
Donna -- never apologize for venting --hope you are doing well
As for me crazy busy week with a houseguest (unexpected) last week (actually lost 2 lbs), she has now since gone back home and things have quieted down -- trying to prep healthier meals at home -- DH saw a registered dietician last week and was advised to follow a low glycemic diet so we are trying this and he is doing better getting in a bit more fruits and veggies.
Brought lunch today and have leftovers at work for tomorrow (chicken jambyla).
Well time to walk the dog and figure out dinner.
