You have to compete in six events throughout the weekend and we even earned a FIRST PLACE in one of those events. I thought I was going to implode and leave a big gooey mess on the field! I was SO excited! I had reached my -20 pound goal by the time Nationals came around. It was VERY cool to notice the difference even twenty pounds made when it came to walking around so much and going from the competition fields back to the shade tents back to the car and so on and so on. Lots of walking at these events, not to mention RUNNING (or trying to) while you're in the ring when it's your time to compete. It was nice to feel a wee bit lighter out there.
SO I had my week 9 weigh-in last night and I hit another goal of mine! I hit -30.2 pounds! I'm SO excited! I've started moving around more, seeing how it's a bit easier for me to do so. A friend gave me an old MP3 player of hers and I've been rockin' out to Lady GaGa and Pink while I stomp around the neighbourhood with Jovi. She's loving the walks and all the new smells that come along with it.
My next BIG goal is to hit 249.00 pounds before 2012 arrives. I started at 317 pounds at the end of June, so that will be a big jump, but I'm up for it!
I'm not saying it's not hard...there are times that I think about the donuts and the pizza...I was at a dog agility fun match event on the weekend...I was judging there all day and it was a big potluck event. SO MANY YUMMY THING EVERYWHERE! My friend kept apologizing every time I saw her put a donut or a cookie or something else delicious in her mouth. I kept laughing and told her not to worry. I said, "if I hadn't let myself get to this point with my weight, then I'd be able to have a donut with you!" LOL And it's true! I've had my share of donuts and cookies over the last little while. And now I'm paying for it and I have to work it off.
I hope everyone else is still feeling encouraged and driven about their new journey. I have scolded everyone who keeps asking me how my diet is doing! I tell them I'm NOT ON A DIET. A diet implies that there's an "end date" to it. This is a "lifestyle change". So now my friends keep asking me "how's your life change coming along?" LOL It's kind of funny...but I don't like labeling it as something temporary...whether I'm still eating everything from Jenny or mixing their food with some meals of my own....it's not a change that has an expiration date!
Keep up the good work everyone!!!
Your Friendly Neighbourhood Canuck! (yes..there's a "U" in neighbourhood up here! LOL)
