I just started JC again after about 3 years. I decided to do JC at home. This is my 2nd day,and it's not so bad, after yesterday. I was starving yesterday. My package didn't come with the list of free foods. And on the menu planner it says to have an anytime bar. Are anytime bars the same as the snacks? And what are soupetizers? I didn't see any in my packet either. Are the anytime bars something I need to purchase seperately at a JC center?

Anytime bars replace a milk exchange and a vitamin. You should be able to purchase them at a center or for At Home.

Souptizer are an item you buy a an add on with your order. I replaces a limited free food. A little on the spendy side.

Free foods are things like non-starchy veggies. They're also used to "volumize" your meals. In other words, you can add veggies to any meal to increase what you're eating and you can eat them in-between meals too.

You also should be eating two fresh fruits a day (and limit bananas to 2-3 times a week).

Don't forget to eat something every 2-3 hours to get your metabolism to keep going (kind of like keeping your gas tank full and replacing your spark plugs and oil to keep your car running its best).

If you don't want to Anytime bar (lots of folks don't like them), be sure to have 8 oz. of low-fat or skim milk, or a container of non-fat, no sugar yogurt and multi-vitamin.

You can buy the souptizers or you can simply make up a big pot of veggie soup and then freeze them into portion-sized containers (since they're free, the portion can be as much or little as you like).

Also free are spices and salsa which many of us use to spice up a meal.

Good luck and welcome back!
