Hi everyone...just discovered these forums this morning and wanted to say hi. I joined Jenny in early May, and hit my halfway point three weeks ago. I've been feeling pretty discouraged this week though - since I hit my halfway point, my weight loss has dropped - where I was losing 2 lbs a week pretty consistently, now I'm barely losing 1. I know part of it is adjusting to eating meals on my own, but I've been so careful, practically obsessive about checking the nutrition information on the meals I make or buy before I eat them, so now I'm starting to wonder if I've hit a plateau. I weigh in today, so I'm hoping for some better news, but I also wanted to see if there was any other information out there on others who had a hard time once they started doing meals on their own, and I found the forums here.

So...I guess that's my long, drawn-out way of saying hello!

Welcome Jen M.!

Hang in there hun, we all experience weeks when we dont lose as much as we would like or expect.....thats normal, really it is!

Just keep doing the program as intended, and maybe switch up your workout and up your water intake.....you will get over this hump, we all do!

JEN.M - you are doing so well. You are such an inspiration to me. I just started back on the program and didn't make it to half way the last time. I've been reading a great book by Norman Vincent Peale - You can if you think you can! One of the main points in the first few chapters covers persistence and perseverence. Basically - It's always too early to quit! That's my long-winded way of saying 'keep on keeping on'. You are doing well. Like Melissa says - it's a normal thing.

I've been perusing these boards for a couple of years. There is a great wealth of knowledge here!

Thanks so much everyone for your kind words! Sorry it took me so long to respond - my job has kept me ridiculously busy lately. I'm very happy to report that I figured out what caused my slowdown/plateau and I'm back on track! For the most part, the reason things slowed down for me was water, water, water! I was drinking less and retaining more - seems I'm pretty darn sensitive to sodium. So last week I lost 3.8 pounds!! Found my way into the 160's and under 20 lbs to goal. So excited I can hardly stand it! I've already warned everyone I plan to be at goal (well, my first goal anyway) by Christmas so people best be buying me clothing store gift cards so I can shop...in the NON-PLUS-SIZE stores! I've gone a couple of times now that I'm in more normal sizes, and I honestly can't remember when I last had so much fun shopping for myself.
