I'm a 22 year old who just graduated college and proceeded to get dumped after a 5 year relationship. I have always been an emotional eater, but JC has been SO helpful through what I have officially deemed the worst summer of my life. Knowing that I can at least control one aspect of my life - what I put into my body - has definitely helped me maintain my sanity, and not blow up like a blimp.

I've been on the program for 7 weeks, but I've been stuck at the same weight for 3 weeks now :( I'm trying to keep my chin up, but I'm starting to feel like a failure at everything - weight loss, relationships, life.

Any advice for someone who's plateaued? Or how to survive a break up?

First of all Welcome aboard!

As far as plateauing, I would suggest switching things up a bit.....like trying different workouts, assuming you are working out. Our body gets adjusted to the same ole thing and so you have to keep it guessing. Try drinking more water, or you could try Calorie Cycling. Here are a couple of good articles about zigzaging your calories.

Now about relationships....lol, I am by far an expert but having gone through many break ups and being married for 26 yrs has taught me a few things. I would suggest staying busy, at least until the ordeal isnt so raw. The less you let your mind wonder, the better......and do realize that this will pass. I know it feels like it never will, but time really does heal. Try not and be so hard on yourself, or beat yourself up trying to figure out what went wrong....some things just arent meant to be, ya know? That being said, do let yourself mourn the loss......5 yrs is a longtime, and grieving is a healthy process that we must go through......but dont obsess over it. Realizing that life goes on, the sun will rise/set tomorrow, the flowers will continue to grow and everyone is going about their lives as normal is what helped me move on through rough times. The world does not stop or end b/c we are having a tough time...even though we would like it to sometimes. lol

Last but not least.....hang in there, you will learn alot through this process.....embrace it....you are young.....you will experience these ups and downs in life for many many more yrs to come and most importantly you WILL make it through this!!!!
