Some of the old Better Homes and Gardens cookbooks are titled as Cooking for One, or Cooking for Two. I love old cookbooks and, often, my library has them in their 'Friends of the Library' book store. Goodwill also has books, along with Half Priced Books.

America's Test Kitchen (of which I am a member) also has some Cooking for One - or Two books. I haven't ordered those. I love the website because they give you recipes that work! I love to cook and I want to cook better when I get to my meals on my own and maintenance. Just a thought!!!

I'm from Washington state so you're sources may be different. I've always been interested in the science of cooking and nutrition.

I think this is a WONDERFUL idea. :)

Since my husband isn't on Jenny Craig it has been difficult (since joining JC) trying to make his meals and my meals. So, having a cookbook I would be able to fix each of us the same meal at the same time. A lot less stress! I hope to see a new Jenny Cookbook real soon.

Thank You...

YES...COOKING FOR ONE OR TWO...MOST COOKBOOKS THAT MAKE MEALS FOR 4 OR MORE ARE USELESS TO ME

There are four in my family now but if the recipe was for one or two I could always double it until the rest of my kids move out. So either cook book would be helpful! I really need to learn how to cook healthy.

Hi,

I searched Amazon and my local used bookstores - found two Jenny cookbooks from a few decades ago. I also used a Eating Well cookbook which breaks down into starch, protein and fat. I have to figure out some of the recipes to see if they are close to how Jenny calculates those items. I only did one recipe which I used once.

Usually I just combine rice and chicken for a dinner or lunch (hot chicken on spinach also works) and egg(s) on a Thomas light mult-grain english muffin (100 calories, high fiber) or bed of spinach. Luckily I like spinach.

But it would be nice if they produced a booklet to help people start again on real food - MOMO.

There are two really good books for small meals. Almost all are recipes for 4 (but for two, you could divide it up and then have leftovers). One is Cook This, Not That!: Kitchen Survival Guide. The other is Cook This, Not That!: Easy & Awesome 350-Calorie Meals. The meals in this one are all 350 cal per serving. I've made recipes from the first one in the past. I just got the other one and I haven't made any recipes yet (still doing JC meals). But, I got my daughter this one and she's made recipes from it. Delicious! Most of the recipes also have fewer ingredients and not too much in the "special" ingredient category. They are geared toward people who don't cook much so the instruction is good. The second one has a section on various cooking techniques so people not familiar can learn them. I am a very experienced cook but I still find the instruction a good refresher esp for those techniques I don't use much.
