I've been a JC member since 2007. I initially lost over 50 pounds but later put back 40 pounds after not sticking to the plan and just eating like a pig basically. I'm 56 5'3" and currently weigh 217.2. My goal is 145. I'd like to have a buddy to keep me on program and share successes and failures if they should occur.

Hi Jordangel,

I live in Haverhill and reached goal in May. I just turned 55. I can use all the buddies I can to help keep me on track. There does seem to be a thread for MA members that seems to be starting up. I'm determined to keep this weight off for good.

I went to JC as a birthday present to me on my 59th birthday...Started mid-July...have lost 21 lbs...and am about 1/3 way towards my goal. I am finding it harder lately...and am thrilled that they introduced some new foods - as I was getting bored with the old...would love to have a buddy to help keep me going...I'm in CT...just over the border!

I started for the first time on Sept 1st. and could also use a buddy. There is not an office in the area where I live so I am doing the Jenny at Home plan.

I am 57 years old, have to married daughters and five grandchildren, work full time and up until this month was a care giver to my father. In the last 10 years since returning to FL, I've gained 100 pounds and really don't like much about myself these days.(Needless to say I was not taking care of myself.) Which is why I joined Jenny Craig, I figured since I have tried just about everything else, I might as well give this a try.

I could use a buddy on this journey. If I can find my way back to this page I will be checking in again soon.

Jordan, WELCOME TO JC!!!!

Anyway, I'm 62 years young and I was in my 50s when I started JC and lost 45 lbs.

I've been married for almost 40 years, no kids, great hubby. :)

I live in S. FL but that's the beauty of the internet. You can have buddies from all over the world and if you come to the boards often, you will find a TON (no pun) of new friends. :P

We're all different ages, sizes and needs for weight loss or maintenance but we all share the common problem of learning to have a new relationship with food. So come to the boards often to ask questions, rant about problems, rave about your losses or to talk about anything you need to talk about or to answer another's post.

Good luck and we're here to cheer you on! :)

Hi!
I am 59 and I just started back on JC after 14 years. I had knee surgery a year ago December...unsuccessful..and have had a terrible time trying to exercise..so I have put on 50 pounds!
I still am unable to do much but get on the treadmill for only 10 - 15 minutes so I have to be diligent in following the program.

I lost 5 pounds last week...so I guess I am off to a good start!

I live in Buffalo, NY..was in nursing for 33 years..I'm married for 39 years and have one married daughter in Rochester.

I'd be happy to cheer you on as I too need the encouragement!

Welcome back, Debbie, and welcome to the boards!

There are lots of us who had to return so you're in good company. :)

Please come to the boards often to ask questions, join in on discussions, cheer about your successes and moan about problems. We're all here to support each other.

Most of us hang out in the GENERAL forum but don't worry, we'll find you wherever you post. :)

Hi all,

I'm Lynn, and I'm 53. I've kept my 50 pounds off for about 2 years now, and am always looking for inspiration from the boards. Welcome and stick around. It's a great place for inspiration and motivation. I need you all to help me stay on track just as much as you look to those of us who've reached goal. It's a lifelong journey, that's for sure.

Let's stay motivated here through the holidays!

Replying to Debbie,
I understand. I had 3 surgeries this year; back, knee replacement, & kneecap. I gained 50 lbs in the 1.5 years: being in pain before (couldn't really move), peri-surgical period, & now I'm still in recovery. I stick to my Jenny plan, and am trying hard to get my strength back so that I can walk for a decent period of time. My primary goal each day is to stick to Jenny, and leave the house so I can get some excercise. Don't give up hope! Every day is a win if we do it. Think about how good you feel when you wake up in the morning after having a good day! There are lots of post-surgical people out here in the Jenny community too, to talk to.

Hi! Turned 50 this past July; will be completing a Master's degree this coming August and have a lifetime to look forward to, but am struggling with a lifelong challenge with weight. Have been heavy all of my life, with the exception of two periods when lost 100+ pounds, but am now 400+ pounds at 5'4" and seeking to get to 135 within the next two years. Am tired of sitting on the sidelines and want to have a life before my time on this planet is over. 10 years ago lost 100 lbs on Jenny and am back to try to finish what I had started before.

I work two jobs and go to school full time, but would love to be an online buddy for anyone seeking support in reaching their goals. Would likewise love to have the support of another as we work towards out respective weight loss and life goals. Good luck everyone and enjoy the promise of the new year!!!

I am new to Jenny - this is day three. I lost 50 pounds in 2005 on South Beach and then injured my knees in 2006. I had knee surgery in 2007 but still have a lot of pain. After trying many different treatments for a weak ankle the doctor told me he recommended surgery in 2009. I will never be 100% because of nerve damage from back surgery 20 years ago but I try to take things one day at a time. I am 51 years old and live in Maryland. Just because we are over 50 - we can still do this. So I am there for anyone because I know from in the past support makes the journey easy.

HI there , I am also new to Jenny, am 59 this year so this is the year to do this ... with 60 around the corner who knows!!. What a thought.....
this is week 2 for me and I lost 8lbs this last week. So I am really delighted even though I respect that its water weight and next week will be much slower its a start that I needed... I also have severe degenerative disc disease and bad knees which need replaced but I refuse to do this till I get the weight off, I have 100lbs to lose o r rather as of today 92!!! :)
In the last 6 weeks both my mother and my mother in law passed away . I come from the UK so I have made 2 trips back and forth in the last month and another one coming up in two weeks for 3 days. But I am concerned how to manage the food while I am there as I cannot take it with me . Just watch and count I guess?
This year hasn't started off well but hopefully now it will turn around. .I have 5 weddings to go to between May and September and the one in September is my daughters and I am bound and determined that I will not be in a tent like a blimp.
More importantly I need to lose weight for my health... so hopefully realising again in the last few weeks tenuous life is I am ready for this but I know I cannot do it alone
and I am also here for anyone that needs support of anykind ,....
The sun is shining in the Northeast, i am ready for spring and my flip flops! Hope you are all doing well and look forward to meeting you all Have a good sunday! :)

Welcome SoonToBeThin and Tam! Glad you're here. :)

When I originally did JC four years ago and lost 45 lbs., I was in my late 50s. Now I'm 62 and on maintenance.

Remember, your age is no more a number than the number on a scale. So just go about the plan as if you were still a "spring chicken" and you'll be surprised. You'll have more energy and you'll look younger too! And soon you'll actually FEEL, ACT, and LOOK like the young, hot lady you want to be. :)
