Hi Everyone,
I have a five year old and 19 month old twins (ok, so I am not a NEW mom per say) and I have just started the program. I had given myself permission to take 18 months to take the baby weight off, 9 months for each baby:) Unfortunately, that mindset didn't really work out for me. I am truly geared up and motivated for the food end of it, but I have no clue when I am going to find the time to fit in an exercise routine. I start back teaching in 2 weeks and get to work at about 6:30AM. After working, picking up the kids, cooking, taking care of everyone and taking care of the household chores, I am pretty sure I am going to come up with any excuse I can to get out of exercise. If anyone has any words of wisdom, they would be greatly appreciated. I should actually be up walking right now, maybe I will go do that:)

Sounds to me like you are already getting in a LOT already!!

Hey give yourself a break. Do what you can. Get a pedometer and see just what you are already doing with your family and teaching. I bet you will surprise yourself. Then work the program the best you can. I suspect that you are already getting plenty of exercise. You just need to cut down the portions of what you are eating - which is what Jenny will help you do.

Take it one day at a time. Be good to yourself. Remember that you cannot give what you don't have. Those babies need a great Mom and that is your priority. Sounds like you are already doing a terrific job at all of it.

I agree with Donna...you are already exercising!!!! Good gravy girl...what a busy bee you are. Infact, your are getting more activity than me and I lost weight just fine. I would just work the program, eat what is on your menu only and drink your water.....I bet you will loss just fine, if not, then tackle that issue when the time comes.....but for now all I can say is WOW!!!! You are working it OUT girl. lol.

Congrats on the twins...you most certainly have your hands full, wears me out just reading what all you do everyday.....YAY FOR YOU HON, and seriously, dont sweat it....like Donna said, your babies need what time you have left.

Try to sneak short snippets in. Park your car at the end of the parking lot, if you get a 15 minute break, walk the halls, etc. Don't worry about trying to grab a full hour. In my losing phase, I'd march in place while my lunch heated up in the microwave at work  I marched in place at home during the evening TV commercials. It all adds up.
50+ pound weight loss and into maintenance. It's been an exciting road and well worth the effort.

Here's to weight loss and a new life!

Thank you so much for the ideas and the encouragement. Today I tried using the kids as weights, (and they are not picky eaters)!
I am sure you are right. I definitely do more than I think. I will just try to sneak things in and up the effort and actual movement. At the end of last year I was going into work 20 or 30 minutes early to walk, which works well, but at the beginning of the year I need to do that to actually get ready.
I have only been on the program for 3 days, but I have done well so far with the menu and portions, and for me the 1st couple of weeks are usually painful when I am trying any program. I get really hungry and irritable. Luckily (for my husband) I am holding steady.
Again, thanks for the ideas and support.

When I went back to work after having my son, I felt the same way. I went back to work (I work in a restaurant) and felt by the end of the day, there was no time for exercise, I was exhausted. I started wearing the armband when I joined jenny, and I realized that by the time I got home from work, I would usually have 10,000 steps and well over 2 hours of activity registered for the day, and that was BEFORE i came home and chased around a 2 year old all evening. This was more exercise than i was getting on the weekends when I was acturally exercising.

I think you will see results just by changing your eating habits with jenny, and just work in what you can. I always tried to make time to exercise on the weekends when I wasn't getting all of the activity at work. You are probably getting more exercise in at work and chasing those little ones than someone who hits the gym everyday after work. Just see how it goes the first few weeks and then you will know how much activity you have to add. Goood luck to you!

I only have one 3years old and I work as well. It is so hard to find time to exercise. I got the WII and I have Zumba and I have a gym membership. Have I gone? No! I have had a lot of success with the Body Media. I lost 30 lbs left and am back to loose another 25. All this so I can have another baby at a healthy weight. WOW twins you have your hands full, the body media tells you how much exercise you do in a day, I love it.

Congrats on the birth of your TWINS - OMG - but I agree that you're probably getting plenty of exercise just trying to keep up with your life.

For me, I "dance" whenever there's music to a commercial, chair dance at red lights in the car, etc.

You said you get hungry and irritable. If you're doing the JC plan correctly, you shouldn't be getting very hungry. You're supposed to eat something every 2-3 hours which will not only keep your metabolism working at its best but should also diminish the hunger pangs.

I know it's hard being a teacher and grabbing something to eat, but in-between classes can you munch on some carrots or cucumber or zucchini slices? Grab a piece of fruit in the mid-afternoon or plan for your snack mid-morning (or vice versa). If you're constantly eating, you'll be surprised at how quickly your brain will adjust to the small portions.

Remember it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to acknowledge that you've eaten something. And you can always volumize your meals with extra veggies or a salad.

Hang in there. I suspect that if you have the patience and discipline to be a mother to toddlers AND a teacher, I bet you'll earn an A-plus on this diet. :)
