Some days I have to stay up late for work till about 3 or 4 in the morning, When I wake up its about 1 or 2 in the afternoon. Is it okay to just skip breakfast then and eat the jenny lunch when I wake up?

Why cant you eat your breakfast when you wake up, eat your lunch at dinner time and your dinner late in the evening since you stay up really late anyway? Just move your eating times wayyyyy up into the day, that way you will still get ALL of your meals in....just a suggestion.

I'm also a night owl and I often go to bed in the wee small hours due to insomnia. Unfortunately, I also tend to wake up no later than 10 am so I don't get to sleep until the afternoon. However, by the time I'm moving around and am ready to eat, it's usually lunchtime so I'll have my lunch then, eat my dinner at a fairly normal hour and then have my breakfast later in the evening.

I know you're not supposed to eat after a certain time because you're less active but when I've had one of those days and nights, in order to get in my three meals, I'll adjust it.

Another fellow night-owl here! *Hoot Hoot!* LOL

I think it's important to get all your scheduled meals in, even if they are not at the "traditional" times. Who cares if you eat breakfast at noon?! Because of my work schedule, I regularly grab my breakfasts between 11-12 and then follow the menu from there. My "AM" snack comes at about 1pm, then lunch around 4pm, afternoon snack about 6ish, and dinner is usually late, close to 9 or 10pm. Not all schedules are created equal, so do what works for you!

Good luck!!!

I'll echo what others have said. On the weekends, if I sleep in - and I've been known to sleep in until 10 or 11 (if my dog lets me), I still eat all my meals/snacks, but I shrink the interval to 2 hours to make sure I fit them all in.

I actually disagree with that "eating before a certain time" for the evenings. I usually have my last snack pretty late & pretty close to when I go to bed. It hasn't interfered with my weight loss.

Dani, I'm sure its a personal thing that varies from person to person. Some can eat whenever, like yourself...which is a total blessing (jealous)Posted Image :P ..... and then there are others like myself...I cant eat past 8 pm or I wont lose weight at all. It all depends on our metabolism. I have read article after article about how our metabolism slows down in the evening.....getting ready for bedtime, trying to hold on to some food so our body doesnt go into starvation mode while we sleep. Whether thats factual or not, hummm, dont know  .....but I know MY body and that is what works for me. :)
