My most favourite and lovely cousin is getting married next year (August 2012)
She is the closest thing to a younger sister I have and I love her dearly
She was a bridesmaid in my wedding in 2007 and asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding, which of course I agreed to cause I would do anything for her
She will be 24 when she gets married next summer, I will be 41.
The three other bridesmaids are also in their mid twenties
One of them is a size 00 (double zero, really????)
So the bridesmaids are a double zero, a size 8, a size 16 and then me, currently a size 26/28
Yesterday we went shopping for bridesmaid dresses, I have never felt so old and fat in my whole life!!
Old I can deal with, I can't do much about that...this is going to be an interesting experience...

She loves you. She asked you to honor her by being her bridesmaid. You are beautiful to her (and I suspect most everyone that knows you)!!!

Wait until you absolutely have to order that dress. You will have lost a lot by then!!!

One of my friends on Facebook posted this during the weekend. I love it!!

I'm very proud of who I am. There isn't another like me anywhere... I'm not super hot or georgeous.. I don't have an amazing figure or a flat stomach.. I'm far from being considered a model, but I'm ME.. I eat food, have curves, love to wear my PJ's, and will go without makeup. I'm random and crazy, and I don't pretend to be someone I'm not. I am who I am, love me or not, it won't change ME!!!

Thanks ladies...I have a pretty good sense of humour about the whole situation
I am at a point in my life where I have long since given up on caring too much what other people think
I even had "To thine own self be true" tattooed on my leg this summer to remind me of that

What an honor to be a part of such a happy experience! :) And as someone else said - just think of how you'll look next year! They'll have to take that dress in so much you'll have extra material for a purse to be made! :)

I know what you feel about feeling old. When my sister-in-law married my brother, I was invited to the bachelorette party. My brother is 12 years younger than me, and his wife 14. Too bad some of the girls in the bachelorette party were girls I used to babysit! EEEEK! Needless to say, I only lasted an hour before I went home - old woman that I am! LOL
