Anyone having problems with sticking to the plan and not loosing weight. I walk and don't cheat and yet nothing. I am going into week four and this will probably be my breaking point if something doesn't happen. I can rationalize spending this kind of money with no results. Hoping someone has a light at the end of the tunnel for me.

Donna,

Are you saying that you haven't lost a single pound in four weeks? What does your consultant have to say about this? I'm sure she will have some thoughts on this. But here are some things that I am wondering.

One is that you're retaining water. It's possible that you're taking in more sodium than you think you are. Lots of drinks, including some flavored waters, have lots of salt. And, of course, if you add salt to your JC meals, that will cause water retention problems too.

Another thing is that you may be older (don't know your age) and it's harder for us the older we get to lose the weight so we have to greatly increase our activity to see the kind of weight loss that we hope for.

It's also possible that you're not eating your meals at the right time, are skipping things like snacks and fruit or aren't adding enough veggies to your meals. It's very important to eat every 2-3 hours to keep your body's metabolism working at its ultimate capacity.

Are you drinking at least 8 glasses of water (sugar-free iced tea, Crystal Light, etc.) a day?

Perhaps you need to be on a lower-calorie plan if they started you out on a higher calorie count than 1,200 calories a day.

When you're cooking for your family (assuming you have one and are cooking for them separately), are tasting the food as you cook as most cooks do? It's surprising how many extra calories that will add.

Some medication interactions will also make it difficult to lose weight. My cousin, for instance, was actually "allergic" to the JC food because it interacted badly with some medications and some medical conditions she has. Because of this, she had to leave the program but that's the rare exception and not the rule.

Your best bet is to have a really serious discussion with your consultant and if she/he can't help, ask to to speak to some other consultants or JC's nutritionist to see if there's something that you're not doing correctly for yourself.

Hopefully things will work out. Talk to the folks at JC and see what they have to say. If you are indeed following the plan TO THE LETTER, there has to be another reason why the weight isn't coming off.

On the other hand, if you're only losing a pound or less a week and you're not happy, you should understand that this is normal. Some people simply lose a lot slower than others and 1-2 lbs a week is average.

Good luck and keep in touch!

Donna,

I was so upset that you haven't seen progress on JC and that you haven't received any support from your consultant that when I went to my weigh-in today I talked to my consultant about your case (I didn't tell her your screen name).

She agreed that there is something definitely wrong with the program and absolutely with the consultant and agreed that you need to 1) get a new consultant and 2) have your consultant check with one of the nutritionists if she can't figure out how to fix the program so that it works better for you and that you start seeing results (or at least figure out why you're having difficulty).

Hope things are going better for you now.

Best,
Phyllis
