Well there you go. I walked into my Jenny Craig store tonight to pick up some food only to find out that the Turkey Dinner has been discontinued - without notice. In fact, the staff there just found out today as well.

Since this is my favourite food, I provided the only response that came to mind:

Lean Cuisine and some other diet brands carry turkey dinners.

*Really* dislike this decision.

Seriously?!?!?!?!?!? Is this everywhere? I cannot eat peppers so my menu selection is limited as it is, the Turkey dinner is my go to meal.... I have it normally at least twice a week......... What am I going to do now?

Jane--
I can't eat GREEN PEPPERS, but I found that I can eat RED PEPPERS. I wonder if you are like that, Jane? -The RED ones are milder. Now, there is one JC MEAL with both kinds of peppers in it and it is the Chicken Fajitas, which is a kit and you can actually pick out all the Green peppers before you cook in in the pan... I used to eat the Turkey Dinner all the time, like you, and now I think I will just eat more Chicken Fajitas as they are delicious with fresh salsa on them.
Hope the suggestion of picking out the peppers, helps.

I would suggest doing as I'm going to do (unless Jenny Craig brings it back): I'll just buy another brand of turkey dinner. There are a few of them out there.

I do Jenny Craig at Home and I just finished my weekly consult. My JCC said the Cheesy Enchilada is discontinued, the Turkey Dinner is not but it's not available right now (distributor issue) and the Mesquite Chicken is suggested in its place. If you don't like the Mesquite Chicken maybe ask your JCC what other substitutes you could try :)

It's gotten progressively worse. I use to be able to eat all peppers, then I couldn't eat them raw, then I couldn't eat them cooked, now I can't eat anything that has been cooked with peppers, or that have had peppers touching it. Went for allergy testing and came up negative, but the Dr. said my issues sounded like an intolerance, similar to people who have an intolerance to shellfish.

I'm in Southern California and I was just told 2 weeks ago that the turkey dinner is totally gone from the menu. I've found a substitute with Banquet - they make a low cal version of 280 calories and serve almost the same exact meal as Jenny's. Guess my Jenny Craig food bill is going to be a lot less because Banquet's turkey dinner costs about $1.50 less than Jenny's and I love having it at least 3 times a week!

I was told Turkey is gone unless we all complain A LOT!!!, Also cheesy enchilada and fajita chicken salad??? It seems as though all the ones that were always sold out at my Centre (i.e. customer favs) are the ones they take away. How much complaining do we need to do. You would think they would monitor people's buying habits!!!!

My JCC told me that they were re-vamping the Turkey dinner and that the new version will have sweet potatoes instead of the mashed ones. We will see, because I will hate see the Turkey dinner discontinued!

My JCC told me today that the turkey dinner and enchiladas are gone permanently. She does not know why and is very surprised by it. Especially for the turkey dinner because it was one of their best sellers. Boo.

well okayyyyy....so i tried to order a Turkey with Gravy about a month or so ago and my counselor said OH we are out of that this week. I said fine okay next week.

so the next week i tried again. nope. still back ordered.

next week, nada.

and etc.

finally a week ago one of the counselors finally admitted that it was DISCONTINUED! auuugh! I am not exactly CRUSHED because there is always another option but dang what a PITA and as others have said - it is one of the more filling meals on the menu. or was :(

at least I can still get the Chicken Fettucine...if they discontinue THAT I am going to go postal!!!

My JCC seemed to think that the turkey would be back but not the enchiladas.

However, as was otherwise noted, there are low-cal turkey dinners out there that will work as a substitute.

BTW, I can't eat green peppers either but I can eat red, orange and yellow ones without discomfort.

Also, there is going to be a pumpkin spice cake coming in the Fall. If it's like the one we had in the past, it's yummy! It's what I take to Thanksgiving dinner for dessert.

I heard the Turkey Dinner was being pulled because they are changing the potatoes to sweet potatoes.

As a clarification:
Re: the staff finally admitting the the turkey dinner was discontinued... It was not about admitting it; it was about corporate making the decision to discontinue it and then telling us.

For weeks, we were told that it was a vendor issue (quality). They were working to resolve it. Then that information changed to the entree being discontinued as they were unable to resolve those vendor issues.

Trust me, your JCCs hate it when this happens. Who wants to be the bearer of bad news and tell their clients that the item is gone? Not I.

Corporate has not oficially confirmed if they are looking for a new vendor or if we are replacing the potatoes in the entree. I'm not really sure where that info has come from. And maybe we will see that the entree is replaced. But if that is the case, I would imagine that corp would be in the beginning stages of doing that.

But I do cast my vote for a replacement. Loved it!

I'm sure you're right, but that was certainly the perception I got.

It's amazing that the Mashed Potatoes with Beef is still around (YUK POO!) but something so good and filling as the Turkey with Gravy is discontinued. I like sweet potatoes but i would really prefer mashed with my green beans and stuffing :)
