I worry about this as well, since the last time I lost weight, I binged big time when I was off it. I am trying to keep that in mind this time and do the things I need to do in order to NOT repeat myself..... for example, DO NOT DEPRIVE MYSELF. I eat every snack, salty and sweet that I am allowed to have. I don't want to be feeling like I can only have this "good" stuff once I am at goal. That makes me start to obsess about food...... NO NO NO!!!!

When I first started jc I was so afraid to eat ANY sweets.....I am a sweet fanatic, so I gradually started allowing myself a couple of jc snacks a week until I could gain full control of myself. To this day sweets are my downfall but I keep them in check....I have to, my health depends on it!

I fully understand your binging craving. As I stated above, I killed a previous weight loss by binging after I was at goal. That is why Jenny works for me! I only give myself permission to eat what is on that paper. There are sweets... salties.... spicy..... burgers... popcorn.... all the things I crave. I don't ever get to the obsessing stage because I have given myself permission to have the sweets... salties....spicy.... burgers.... popcorn and it is all a part of my plan. Sure there are days I think about a big ole spoonful of peanut butter (you can pick your own food love), but you have to change your self talk. I will talk myself out of it - (REALLY DEBBIE??? REALLLY??? Do you REALLY want that more than you want to be HEALTHY???? REALLY???). Then I go and get a big ole glass of water and add MIO to it or Crystal Light and fill myself up. It does help. If I still hear that self talk I honestly just go to bed since it is usually that I am so tired anyway that I have lowered resistance to that nasty talk. I CONSTANTLY remind myself why I am doing this and how much I want this MORE than that "whatever". Linda Spangler's book is a good one to help keep motivated. Her statement in there about how the 1st 2 bites of anything taste better than the remaining bites. Try it. Before you take that 3rd bite REALLY THINK about it. You have the power!!!

Look, it's like any other addict. You have to stay away from certain things.
You wouldn't suggest to an alcoholic that "One drink won't hurt you," right? So if you are craving sweets and you know that there you're undoing, then stay away from that type of snack - JC or otherwise - if you're afraid that you're not going to be able to stop. It's not easy, I know, but getting a better control on our food intake isn't easy to begin with. You just happen to be more sensitive to sweet snacks.
Hang in there and do you best to get control of it. In time, like most "addicts," you will "need" it less and less. Remember, progress, not perfection.

Love this Deb! Self talk really does work for me too. If I get a hankering to snack in the evening (which is my worse time) I just tell myself "THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED FOR BIDNESS!" lol. I turn out the lights and step away slowly. ha

Mine is night time too. When I first restarted, I went to bed early to force myself to stick with it. I don't have to do that anymore. I still sometimes use the "trick" of brushing and flossing my teeth after I've eaten all the food on my plan for the day.
