Thanks for the support, y'all, but my center seems to be losing JCCs and not hiring any. In fact, my JCC has to go to three different centers so she can work and even at that she's not working a full week.

Besides, if I was a JCC I wouldn't have as much time to pester you all! :P

i am still in the losing process... about 4 pounds away from maintenance.. and i was wondering this, i am on the 1200 calorie menu, but when i add up my calories, it exceeds 1200. it is about 1220 - 1230 on days i do not work out, and i eat a little more days i work out so around 1270 - 1300. should i be counting the calories of the foods i choose and get closer to 1200 exactly? i hope to be on maintenance soon. thanks!

Roxy, since you're so close to maintenance, haven't they had you doing some MOMOs since you hit halfway? And, yes, when you get to maintenance you'll be allowed an additional 250-400 calories more (especially since you don't exercise - which you should even if it's just walking) to maintain your weight.

Personally I check my weight often and if I see it start to creep up, I cut back to about 1,200 calories (more or less) until I lose the extra weight and if I should EVER see that scale go past the 5 lb. mark, I'm heading straight back to JC to lose it and for a refresher course.

I think that too many folks weight until they've gained back waaaay too much weight to return and that's unfortunate because the only person they're hurting is themselves.

No Roxy, you're fine. Your total calories for the day will be over 1200 many days....thats totally normal.

Congrats on being close to your goal......AWESOME!!!!

Thanks for the responses!!!!! Yes it feels so good to finally sAY i am 4 lbs away from goal.

Phyllis, i do work out, about 3 times a week i do a 45 min spin class it is intense so i eat more calories those days. so far this has been working, i just never really knew if going over 1200 would prevent a quicker weight loss each week. and if i should be eating exactly 1200 a day... but i will continue to do what i've been doing. thanks!

Roxy, don't mind me. I have no idea why I wrote that you didn't exercise. I have no idea where that came from.

Congrats on doing the spin classes! I don't think I'd last five minutes! LOL
