Mine didn't either. I even asked her about it because I had heard that on the forums. She said no, don't add anything....

There are a few meals that have some small additions like adding meat or vegetables. The way I know is when I do a personalized menu on line, it will automatically add that when you select that meal in the drop down menu. For example, when you input the chicken pasta parmesan, it has you add a fat serving and a veg serving. Another example is the baked potato - you have to add 2 meat servings. Not everyone knows this about some of the meals.

LOL I just had the mac-n-cheese last night! Sure wish I'd known I could have added something besides volumizing veggies. :) Guess I really should read directions more.

My biggest complaint about JC food is the text on the boxes is so small and faint I have to stop everything to find my reading glasses before I can eat anything. (Usually they are hiding on my head  I zero in on the microwave time and never look at anything else. OOPS! I wonder what else I've been missing all these months?

I agree - I think they just need to make each meal stand alone rather than requiring additions.

This is what I do with the mac and cheese: I would pick out say the baked potato for lunch that day (you add 2 meats to that, as susanjt pointed out) and then I'd have the mac and cheese for dinner. I would 'save' my two meats from lunch and combine that with the 1/2 a meat from the mac a cheese and have a meal very similar to my husbands. I'd make lean chicken for both of us; he would have a whole breast and I'd have 2.5 ounces. I'd make veggies for us both and my sides would be the mac and cheese from the meal plus whatever veggies I had made for him and i. doing that made me feel more 'normal' and let me cook something that I can easily eat safely with my jenny craig meals.

I asked my JCC and she said don't add anything either, other than veggies. I think ultimately it depends on how many calories you are on

Grab one of the Personalized menu planners( the one with the photos of the entrees) next time you are at your center
they say on there which meals you need to add something to. There are like 7 different entrees you are supposed to add to

one way to figure out what to add: go to tools in your account and create a personalize menu based on what you picked out for the week. when you add the items that need add=ons, such as the mac and cheese, the personalized menu will show a pop up inside the menu telling you what to add. i always do personalized menus, and i plug everything in to the computer, so I guess I never knew the frustration of not knowing what to add. But, if you enter your own personalized menu based on your selections, it will tell you. :-)

Hi... I just re-joined and if you look at the Personalized Meal Planner (the pamphlete with the color pictures of the dishes on it), it tells you what to add. Interesting that we need to add a meat serving to dishes with meat already in them, like Mashed Potatoes & Beef and S&S Chicken! The meat dishes should conatin enough meat for our money, ya think?

A half of meat? I guess I don't read enough. I have most of the dinners including the mac and cheese on a plate with a large salad. Sometimes I ad some more of whatever veggies are in the dinner to the salad. I eat my "dinner" at noon and my lunch at supper. Sounds confusing. Two more pounds to half way. 3 months = 30 pounds. So thankful I started in December!

I am holding the Menu Planner and there are several dinners that tell you to add specific servings to them. Mac & Cheese add 1/2 meat serving...Mashed Potatoes & Beef add 1 vegetable and 1 meat serving...Sweet & Sour Chicken add 1 vegetable and 1 meat serving...and then a few that say to add 1 vegetable serving, which we should always do anywah, right?? and a couple of the lunches say add a vegetable...one says also a fat serving

I wasn't aware and haven't added the meat servings to anything...I don't even buy meat anymore...guess everyone needs to grab a menu planner and read it. Good thing we have each other.

I joined mid March and am still trying to learn how best to make this work for me...or how to make this work best for me...

I'm having my JC Mac and cheese tonight but starting with the Ginger Caroot soup I just posted recipe forin another thread and using my extra meat with a small shrimp cocktail with sauce made w ketchup mixed with horshraish, lemon and hot sauce over a bed of lettuce.

I made meatloaf and mashed potatoes for my family which I will not be eating but we all will vae the shrmip, carrot soup and I'm roasting a big pan of ratatoule with eggplant, zuccini, red, yellow and green peppers, tomatoes and herb to provence seasoning that we will all eat as well.

I tought my family would enjoy a sit down 4 course dinner!

I also bought this small 1/2 pt size ice cream maker today from Target and Im going to make cantelope, lime , mint and truvia sorbet for desert.

And I still have JC cinnamon sticks for late night noshing!!!

Im so proud of my meal that will make us all happy!
