I've never lost 3 pounds in one week - even at the beginning. So it would never be an "only" for me!
I'd suggest reading a lot more of the messages on this board - there is thread after thread of support for weigh-ins, whether they're a loss, a gain or staying the same. You will see lots of fluctuations, but one single week is never (in my opinion) reason to get down.

First of all, you are NOT doing anything wrong...we all lose weight at a different rate and pace. There are 2 reasons I can think of that could be the reason why you didnt lose a huge amount your first week.....although 3.3 lbs is GREAT!
#1 reason would be if you just came from another weight loss program and already lost your initial water weight.....b/c that is usually what you lose the first week. Secondly, if you dont have alot to lose, could be another reason you didnt lose big. Usually people who need to lose a large amount will have a really big loss the first week.
Just throwing those out there and letting you know you are doing great......so dont worry....be happy

Hi Bobsmom,
I am just starting the program too and I have read other peoples comments to your email and I must say I agree with them. Please don't give up. Eating a healthy diet and exercise is so good for your body. I also think 3.3 pounds is GREAT!

My JCC indicated I could expect to lost 1 - 2 lbs a week, and when I have a loss more than that, although it's exciting, she reminds me not to expect that every week
Be proud of that 3.3 lbs!

4/17/12 week #1 -- 4 lbs lost =180 lbs
4/24/12 week#2 -- 1.6 lbs lost 178
5/1/12 week#3 -- 1 lb lost 177
5/8/12 week #4 -- 6oz lost 176.4
5/15/12 week #5 -- 2lb lost 174.8
5/22/12 week#6 --4 oz GAIN 8-( 175.2
