Hi! I'm 41 and new to Jenny Craig and have lost 2.4 pounds the first week. (I have about 50 more to go.) I have some challenges due to abdominal surgeries and early menopause. Anyone else out there with any experience? I really want to stay motivated and would love to hear any tips or suggestions. Good luck to everyone!

I too just joined and in my 40's so a little slow going but I am in my 3 weeks and have watched the scale go down every week, so it does work. This was the first week I started walking, just one mile and today move up to two miles. It seems like the older we get the harder it seems to lose a few pounds, but stick it out & I think you will see some good results. Good Luck

I am 49. I lost 25 pounds and have kept it off for over a year. I also have had a few abdominal surgeries and know all about menopause. Remember that you are worth every bit of this process. This is your time. The harder you work, the greater the rewards. I have gained so much strength from this process, I cannot tell you! Exercise! Exercise! Exercise! Walk. Ride a stationary bike. Do aerobics. Swim. Whatever you can. Hot flashes will lessen. Sleep will improve. You will have boundless energy. Eat healthy. Eat fresh veggies and fruits. Be kind to yourself. Reward small goals that you meet. It is worth it! You are worth it! Best wishes!

I am 52 and have not gone through menopause yet...go figure. I still have issues with putting weight on easily, I think that is just an age thing. I use to be able to eat whatever I wanted and not gain an ounce...I always tipped the scales about 105. Now I sit at 120 and trying to lose a few...when I quit smoking I shot up to 143, that is when I joined JC. You can do this...just give it time, all worth it!

I'm 44 and officially in the early stages of menopause. I also take several medications and I don't exercise (yet) due to a chronic condition. I lost 3 lbs on week 1 and am a nervous wreck that it was a fluke. I have no words of wisdom as I am new as well but keep your doctor in the loop and hopefully he/she can help you work the program. Best wishes!

I take anti depressants....and I was told it would be a little harder to lose weight...we'll see. I'm only on my third week. So far, I am satisfied with the progress.

No tips for you, as I am just learning what to do myself....but, hang in there.

I entered into perimenipause when I was 37. Ever since then it has been a struggle to keep my weight down. I have gained at least 10 pounds a year for the last 4 years. My normal weight was in the 120's. When I started Jenny 13 days ago I tipped the scale at over 168. I have faith this will work. I have the body media fit armband, and on average I only burn 1700 calories a day. That is with no exercize. I usually consume about 1400 calories per day. When and if I exercize, I can usually hit a calorie burn of 2000 calories a day. My first week I lost 5 pounds. This week, it looks like I may only lose about a half a pound. I have never known anyone to have a metabolism as slow as mine. I wish I could offer you some thoughful advice. All I can say is keep at it. The process will take longer than most people. The health benifits will make it all worth while, plus the satisfation you will have from looking and feeling good. Best of luck to you!
