I was on the program years ago when they held classes, and I found them very helpful and informative. They had more training for maintenance back then, too, and I wish I had held on to all my materials from then. I miss that information, but the LiveWell/WebMD program I have access to at work is a good substitute.
My current consultant goes through the routine every week, but they have yet to take my picture and I had to ask to get my measurements taken. I've been back for about 8 weeks now and have lost 26 pounds so far, but have been keeping in the back of my mind what I will do once I reach my goal in another 74 pounds. I'd like to try a week here and there on my own during this journey...the original program I used had you switch over once you reached half-way to making your own meals once a week, and then two times a week and so on until you reached goal. I think I will be doing that on my own once I get there.

Yes, you should definitely ask for a picture. I'm surprised you didn't do this in the beginning but in any event CONGRATS on the OUTSTANDING loss of 26 lbs. in two months. You are losing WAAAAAY above average!
And, yes, at halfway they are still supposed to be transitioning you to doing MOMOs and DOMOs and it sounds as if you have a plan, so that's great.
I know some JCers don't want to do the MOMOs and will fight their JCC against it for fear that their loss will slow and while, in a way, that's understandable, they're not doing themselves any favor because eventually you DO have to return to non-JC food so if you've slowly worked on the transition you'll succeed at maintenance much better.
Anyway, keep posting. I know you will inspire many!

That sucks that JCC's aren't going over MOMO's and Maintenance with people that have paid good money for their program. I can understand people that are on promo's like my wife and I, but if anyone asks their JCC's about it, most are willing to share; I know mine is. I never intend to have to go back to JC, I'll just keep coming here and sharing.
You gave a great suggestion to put your JC meal on a plate, I think all counselors should tell people to do that, it really does give you an idea of what you are eating because you can't tell when you are eating it out of the microwave container. If you eat the way your day is balanced on the sheet they give you (the blue or green one) and just add a little more to keep you from losing, then you have a winning formula. Really what we are paying for is for JC to tell us how to eat properly, not just to tell us how to eat; but I don't think everyone always sees that.
Congratulations to everyone on their weight loss and continued weight loss.
My tips are probably what other people have said, use the nutrition panels on the JC food to compare frozen things you are buying at the grocery store and see what you are eating on a plate. The sodium will be higher, but you can offset that with drinking more water. Eat balanced meals, 4-6 oz of meat with a moderate starch and your freebie veggies. Find lowfat and healthy recipes to make the foods you enjoy, you can try turkey meatloaf or lowfat baked ziti made with fat free sour cream instead of ricotta. Try switching out your whites for browns: brown rice, whole grain pasta, whole grain bread. These things will aid you in your healthy eating habits. Please remember to use moderation also, you can eat the things that you enjoy, but do it moderately with smart and healthy choices and you will be just fine and keep your weight off that you worked so hard to lose.

So they're really the ones that are supposed to push you to do MOMO's, and some don't because it would hurt their sales.

Now I'm using My Fitness Pal to log my foods. I type in the recipe and the program figures the grams of fat/carb/protein/fiber/sugar for me. That has helped me quite a bit. My JCC listens when I tell her what I'm logging and provides suggestions when my weeks aren't going too well. It's usually something I ate too much of (Beef and cheese and salt) or I simply took in too many calories for the exercise that I did that week.
I agree that you have to ask your JCC for the booklets and request help often. My JCC goes to the director if she has questions and gets an answer for me. Every once in a while I have to wait for the answer, but my center is good to find out what I need to know.
I wish all the JCC's out there (centers too) could be as good as mine. I know I'm getting the tools that will help me keep this weight off as long as I go through maintenance.

MOMO is Meal On My Own and DOMO is Day On My Own.
When you reached halfway on your weight loss, they should have had you start doing MOMOs so that you could see what you could and couldn't eat and continue to lose weight and/or at least maintain it. If you were doing well with eating your own food, then they would have transitioned you to doing DOMOs so that you would be better prepared for maintenance.
To be honest, maintenance isn't that much different than when you're in the losing phase. Basically you will add 200-400 (or a little more if you're exercising often) to maintain the weight.
So start doing MOMOs. Keep in mind what the portion size is of your protein and carbs. - about a cup each and fill up the rest of your plate with non-starchy veggies. Make sure you have a little bit of a good fat (olive oil, nuts, etc.).
You said you're still on JC food and you're gaining? Or are you doing JC food and adding other foods and now you're gaining.
If you can be a little more specific about what you're eating - EVERYTHING you're eating and drinking - perhaps we can help you and turn this gaining trend around.
We want to help so give us as much info as you can so we can figure this out since your JCCs don't seem to be that helpful.
