Run or Walk?

WoW! I spent 45 minutes walking and I only burned 135 calories. Which one is better? I didn't even sweat, but I am hardly ever do. How can I maximize my walking time? Please Help : smile.gif

How many miles did you walk in 45 minutes? I burn about 130 calories per mile.
Do you know how many steps you took? an average is 2,000 per mile.

Do you have good form and can you walk any faster? Take smaller steps, push off with you toe each time, have your arms at a 90 degree angle and swing back. Your feet can only go as fast as your arms go!

That said, you need to start your walking program slow and build up. Use this walk as a baseline and try to improve your distance and speed over time. Don't do too much too soon.

There are a lot of websites to get walking tips.
