When I read the message boards now, I feel embarrassed because I'm off track and finding it difficult to find my way back. I look at people and they're losing so good and I've lost 10 lbs in 2 mths and am having a hard time. I could be down really good right now, but been off kilter the last 3 wks. Ugg. What is wrong with me? I'm really frustrated. I have 100lbs to go. I'm trying to get with it, but keep letting my guard down and just picking up snacks. I ate a whole of mixed nuts yesterday afternoon, and a 3/4 bag of M&Ms last night and the rest this morning.

I want to lose this weight, but my actions aren't showing it. sad.gif

Hang in there, my friend. One day at a time. I too have cheated a little. Do not beat yourself up over it. You can get back on track. Good Luck!

Set your goals, but remember... it's ONE MEAL at a time, not even one day at a time. Get right back on track. Reward yourself when you do well and don't give up.
50+ pound weight loss and into maintenance. It's been an exciting road and well worth the effort.

Here's to weight loss and a new life!

Don't forget that 10 pounds in two months is a fantastic loss, don't compare yourself to others because everyone is different.

The last three weeks I did terribly eating extra foods and it kept getting worse. I finally confessed to my JCC and we talked about possible solutions, but none really seemed feasible to me. So she gave me the best advise and now I'm back on track. She simply said "you know what to do". And it's true, I know that I'll loose the weight if I stick to the plan. What she said got to me and now I'm back on track.

Must be something about confessing what's been happening and taking responsibility for my choices that turned things around for me.

Don't worry, we all get off track, but we can all get back on too.

Thanks guys. I had a motivation appointment yesterday, and was told the same thing. It really helped and I'm taking it one step at a time. I'll get there I know it. I just have to keep at it.

Dear Caring - don't give up on yourself!!! This plan is to prepare you for a lifetime of good eating habits. Like another person said, take it one meal at a time, even one snack at a time.

It may help not to have any tempting foods in the house - I've gotten rid of anything that may tempt me to snack.

That being said, I have had a very slow 5 weeks on this program - while others are losing lots, it is slow going for me.

I even thought about staying away from this forum because it was so hard for me to read how much people lost in a week and I only lost a little even tho I did not venture off the program at all.

I know I need to keep the motivation high because this is a long term thing for me, but we all will have those ups and downs. Just keep at it - it will happen for you!

Thanks. Another think that I have to do is read the books that I got. I haven't really gotten into them, so I know I have to change that. Today went well. I'm doing like you guys say taking it meal by meal. I did have some cravings though. But i'm pushing through.

I know exactly how you feel. I've got 150 pounds to lose and I just get SO discouraged. BUT I have a few tricks. When I'm craving something sweet, I bought myself some canned diet root beer and diet orange soda. Stupid, right? I never indulge. But then when that sugar craving hits I say 'I'm going to treat myself'. And then my little 'treat' is a diet soda OR a sugar free jello with some sugarfree cool whip (also allowed). I also will freeze my diet soda in little popsicle trays and have a "popsicle"! That way you are "splurging"... (except not really). wink.gif

I keep telling myself: I didn't gain this weight in one day. And I'm not going to lose it in one day either.

Hope that helps! Hang in there!

Hello Caring--

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I've been on the program almost 2 years and am down 95 lbs. However....I've plateaued and haven't budged for 4 months!!! My problem is that I can't afford full weeks of JC and have to fill in my own. I haven't been making very good choices for myself when left on my own--so all the work I put in for 5 days is averted on the 2 days I've had on my own. I'm also starting to creep back up.

I, too, was becoming discouraged because those that have been on the plan shorter than me have lost more. I've also been told by others that what I've lost so far is fantastic and should be grateful. Yes, I've put in lots of work, but really have much more to do.

Those of us who have 100+ to lose have a much longer journey ahead of us than most on JC. We have to focus on our own journeys and not others. They are just sharing the same path for a short time. I am choosing to use them for strength and give them some when needed.

I've made some difficult decisions in the last few weeks that have paid off. I am working with a different JCC who has agreed to "kick my butt" when needed. I also started a new job and decided to take the extra earnings and buy full weeks to jump start my progress again. I have many overdue bills, but if I'm not healthy, I can't keep working to pay them off. I've also found that keeping extremely busy helps keep away from snacking. I also make sure that the "busy" includes just as many fun things as chores. It's hard enough to replace the hard work of not straying with more work.

Hope this helps. Keep posting and drawing strength from all of us--we are here. Believe it or not, you've helped me by just posting...
