Hi! I'm new around here. I am 33 (one month from 34...gack) and I set a goal of losing 70 lb. (I need to lose more than that, but that was the most I could face for the time being). I am a have had success on WW but felt that I needed the structure which Jenny offers. I am a teacher and after a week off, I came to the realization that I needed my food choices taken out of my hands (at least to a certain extent).

So far I'm doing okay food wise. Some of the foods I have liked and others I'd rather not try again (I'm thinking that I'm going to stick to chicken and vegetarian dishes).

Next week I am traveling to a conference for work. I won't neccessarily have access to a refrigerator or microwave (I guess that nicer hotels expect you to eat out). I know that several of the people I am with eat healthy so I don't expect too much peer pressure to make "bad choices" eating out, but I could use some tips from people who travel frequently. I plan to bring cereal or breakfast bars. I will have access easy access to a mall food court and several chain restaurants for lunch. I welcome any suggestions for food choices or things to bring along from those of you with more experience smile.gif

Best thing is to order a salad with some protein, and ask for the dressing on the side. I even cheat and bring my own calorie wise dressings in my purse:)

Hi Amber!

Staying on plan is easier than you think...bring all your shelf stable stuff with you, your Jenny dressings and your breakfast muffins. load up on lots of salads, grab a piece of fruit twice a day, drink lots of water and you may only find yourself creating one meal a day on your own. Come home and weigh in with confidence!

Thanks for the tips. I can't say that the trip was a "diet win" moment, but I did manage to lose at my next weigh-in. I tried to make really good choices for breakfast and lunch, knowing that dinner was going to be more difficult. When I came back I had gained back all they weight I lost the first week, but as soon as I came back I was very strict with diet and exercise and managed to have a good weigh-in. Thanks again!
Amber
