I've been on JC for several years. However, over the past 6 months I've put on 15 pounds. I'm disgusted with myself. I can't seem to get back on track. My clothes don't fit and I'm wearing the same things over and over again. I refuse to buy new "fat" clothes, as I have a whole closet full of things that I used to fit into. How do you get back the motivation you once had? I feel awful - physically, mentally and emotionally. I actually cried this evening when I tried to put on the clothes I wore last summer and they didn't fit. I'd be happy to lose just 10 pounds, which I know is totally doable. But I just can't seem to do what needs to be done. I think I need to get back on this board and get help from people who have been there. Any motivation you guys can give me will be much appreciated. I lost a total of 50 pounds. I don't want to put it all back on. And the way I'm going, I'm heading that way. I'm hoping I've come to the right place to get my big butt moving in the right direction!

Hang in there. You seem to have hit a rut. Are you doing planned menus or are you on maintenance? I would suggest going right back on planned menus if you are not to get back to basics. You know how to work the program because you were successful before. Check out a new exercise class or video to get some exercise excitement. I am still new to this journey, but I have vowed not to cheat at all. So far so good. 9 Weeks and counting and I am down 30 lbs of the 80 I need to lose.

I hope that helps and I have found that this forum has been my god send.

Good luck.

Hi Special,

You sound just like me. I originally had about 40 lbs to lose, went on JC six years ago, lost almost 50 & bought new "skinny" clothes, felt great at then bam...I lost my motivation. The "honeymoon" phase was over and I started slipping & put almost 20 lbs back on and hated it. Then I would go to JC on and off & would lose and gain and juggle the same five pounds. So I decided to take a longer break and believe me it wasn't easy as I wasn't losing on my own. I hated not fitting into my new clothes and being a failure at this felt worse than anything. I guess this is what you would call failing at maintenance, I used to think that dieting came with a deadline but guess what? You can't take time off from working on yourself, it just doesn't work that way. I finally realized that and began to take care of myself. I started being more active than ever before & went back to Jenny with a new attitude and started seeing results smile.gif I have since lowered my goal and will always continue to work on myself. Perhaps going to planned menus will help you jump start your journey.
Wishing you the best of luck! You can do this!

Thanks for your support. I guess I thought this would all be so easy once I lost the weight. But life got in the way! I'm taking your advice and hanging in there. I went shopping tonight and refused to buy any fat clothes. I got into my skinny clothes before and Ill get there again. It's "only" ten pounds. I'm going to take your suggestion and go back on planned meals. It's what worked before and I have no reason to believe it won't work now. Thanks again guys! It's nice to know there's people out there who understand and have been where I am!
