I have ordered an inexpensive recumbent bike and I can go next door to my SIL's basement gym to use some weights for upper body workout. But, I am looking for other ideas and encouragement that this can be done. I must keep this weight off that I've worked so hard to get off. Please help, I'm getting worried that I will regain that 50 pounds!

Sorry to hear about you diagnosis, that's a bummer
How about water aerobics? Or swimming in general? Definitely takes impact off your knees.
Perhaps try to stay at 1,200 calories per day if you can't be active at all. Hopefully, you won't gain will cals that low.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
