Oh, Jenny, Jenny, please give us an option with shrimp in it! Shrimp in garlic sauce over pasta; shrimp fried rice; shrimp fajitas.... (For the fajitas: please consider a steak option as well!)

Also, a non-fried fish option would be nice. The salmon dish is okay but a grilled or poached or steamed white fish like tilapia served with roasted red potatoes and green beans would be lovely.

I like chicken but anything that can be made with chicken can (usually) work with shrimp, or even chunks of flaky white fish (tilapia!). This would greatly expand the Jenny menu!

Oh, and while I'm airing my wishlist:

Could we have some different whole grains? Quinoa, pearled barley, wheat berries, wild rices, couscous...? Something to break up the pasta/white bread monopoly?

And more veggie-oriented options! Like black lentil daal over basmati rice? Or a decent veggie fried rice?

Thanks,

tBot

I agree wholeheartedly. I live in seafood central, surrounded by fresh shrimp, scallops and lobster and going the entire summer without any seafood just isn't happening. And I also agree that pretty much anything with chicken could be replaced with seafood. The chicken fettuccine would be great with some small shrimp and scallops instead of the chicken.

Wonder if it is a 'budget thing' with JC regarding shrimp which is not inexpensive. I do agree with everyone, that it would be a wonderful and welcome addition to the menu. That salmon has to go. tongue.gif

Well each of the meal items has a different cost associated with it and I personally would be willing to pay a bit more for a "GOOD" seafood dish, but that's just me.

I just joined one week ago. I was not pleased with any red sauce because It tastes like a boyardee sauce. I was hoping to find any olive oil / garlic with any seafoods and pasta. This would greatly expand the Jenny menu!

FYI: I have been eating alot of chicken which it get me bored. sad.gif

I am not sure the JC people read these forums, I don't see any posts from JC representatives. So if you have suggestions or comments regarding the foods. I think it would be best to write an email to JC using the "contact us" link.

Hey now... I'm totally on board with what your saying....on a special occassion if the family is going to a restaurant and I know ahead of time, or just because.... I will sub one my meals for "Meal on My Own," usually at dinner, and slurge on a seafood dinner. All I need is lemon juice and a touch of seasoning, fresh rosemary, and thyme, even a little olive oil and i'm set to go. Scallops, shrimp, and flakey fish all sound wonderful optinons to change up the Jenny menu!

Bertucchi's, a local restaurant chain, has great seafood selections that seem to be very healthy. Cooked in flavorful broth instaed of butter and oil, low in salt and moderate portions. Skip the bread and double up on the salad if your still hungry.

Other companies such as lean cuisine have great fish options that don't come out rubbery or ruined in anyway. Hopefully Jenny hears us soon!!

Lots of luck with your weight loss goals,
Emerald

PS - How do we know Jenny is listening?? Moderation team send us feedback !!

I agree SHRIMP! I have a few Clam Chowders left from purchasing like a mad woman last year when it was available.
They had Passion Cheese Cake that was wonderful but temporary too. My center director says the fish - seafood items don't do well. Really?

I eat fish and shrimp and lobster on my own, you can have a bigger portion of that than chicken or beef.......if you are not halfway, ask your consultant anyway if they would help you plan a seafood dinner........

You can have a larger portion? Really? That's a new one on me. I thought all lean protein (chicken, turkey, fish, etc.) was just that - protein - and the portion size was the same.

I'll have to ask my JCC next time I talk to her or maybe I'll check with the Nutritionist because that would be a great thing if it works out that way. :)

I'm back on maintenance, and one of my favorite lunches for taking to work is Lean Cusines Tortilla Crusted Fish. 300 calories, and comes wih a rice dish. I really enjoy it. Nestle makes Jenny food and lean cusine, maybe they modify it if necessary to fit the plan.
