I think sometimes we have too high of expectations and therefore when we fail to meet them we fell unhappy......at least thats how I am, and I am constantly working on that.

3 lbs is really good. go around your house and pick up things that weigh that much...you will be SO surprised at how heavy 3 lbs is and proud of yourself for losing that much.

3 pounds is a great loss your first week, you should be proud of yourself. Maybe Melissa needs to bump that pound of fat post and you can see just how proud you should be!! Just keep up the good work, you are doing fine smile.gif

LauraR,

I lost 3.9 the first week, but only 1.3 the second. I was happy the first, but thought I'd lose at least 2 the second, so I share some of your disappointment. However, I think shows like "The Biggest Loser" get make our expectations a bit irrational. I'm trying to focus on just losing something each week, so I don't get discouraged and give up. I've got some challenges in the next week - a 40th wedding anniversary celebration, a tail-gate party, an ice cream social.....Not sure of my plan yet, but I'm going to try to get extra exercise in this week to see if I can prevent gaining.

Good luck - hang in there!

I am on day two and I find it hard to think I can loose weight by eating all the breads, potatoes, cheese over or in most entrees, pasta, cakes, cookies, bars and cereal foods I was sent home with. i, too, hope I don't let the slow weightloss disappoint me.
