My goal is to lose 100 lbs also. My first week I lost 18.5 lbs. The second week I lost 7.5 lbs, for a total of 26 lbs in 2 weeks. Week 3 weigh in I had a humbling experience and actually gained 6.5 lbs. My week 4 weigh in is tomorrow. I should be happy that I have lost 19.5 lbs in 3 weeks, that is definitely not typical! It is normal to lose a lot the first week or 2 due to water loss, and everyone is different. That said, we're all in this together, and all we can do is try our best to stick to the program and offer each other support. Keep us posted on how you're doing!

I originally had about 40 lbs to lose. Currently, I'm going for about 10 more "vanity" pounds. At first, the weight comes off quicker. First week, I lost almost 4, then 3 (which was a lot for me since I'm a slow loser), then an average of 2 per week. Now, that I'm very close to a newly lowered goal, the loss comes in ounces

The only important thing to consider is that the weight is going to come off (with the occasional no loss weeks and the weeks where you're "gained" but it's actually usually water retention and then it shows up the following week as a bigger loss).
There really is no "average." It's going to be different for everyone based upon the amount of weight they need to lose, their age, activity level and so forth. So hang in there. It WILL come off if you work the program.

Congrats on making your decision to be healthy and get the support you need. Awesome!
To your question: I lost 3 lbs the first week and have lost something evey week except one in 22 weeks! I even lost 2.5 lbs on vacation and enjoyed myself (with the help of the Jenny cinnamon rolls.) I'm at my 1/2 way point and have lost 41.4 lbs - no speed racer here.
I have chosen to be excited at each weigh in because I'm changing a life style and my relationship with food. Because I had been steadily packing on the pounds and could not stop, I rejoice every week - I'm not gaining - yippee!! And, just this month, I lost another -5 inches for a total inches of -28.5!!
At the -30 lbs point, my blood sugar level went from pre-diabetic to normal - no medication for me
I'm following the people who have gone before me and are maintaining their weight loss - they just don't quit - no matter what. All the best to you on this wonderful, challenging, we're-worth-it journey!

I finally decided to join this chat after five weeks of doing JC. The first week I lost an amazing 9 pounds but I was also a very heavy soda drinker so it is crazy that I was carrying all that extra water weight around. I am at five weeks and have lost 18 pounds. I even treated myself to a night out with my girls drinking wine and gained a pound but worked out harder the next day (in my livingroom of course)and lost that pound plus a half the next day. I started only hitting 1 pound a week but since I put some Jillian Michaels tapes in the tv and worked out it has now jumped to 2 pounds a week. I have 35 more pounds to lose but I know I am on my way and so will you.

But there's always factors that will affect the speed of your weight-loss, including your dedication to the program (and other things you can't control, like metabolism, genetics, age, etc). There's the potential for gains if you go off track, or high losses when you do things right and work your butt off! I find when I buckle down and work out more than 3 times a week I can still score a great 3 pound loss in one week!
