I am not a canned meat eater and I just find these shelf stable foods nearly inedible! Anyone else? I have been fairly pleased with the frozen meals. Some of the frozen meals are pretty good and others are ok, but they are palatable. Meat on a shelf is really disgusting! I can handle the canned tuna and chicken salads. Otherwise, I cannot choke down another shelf stable meal, much less pay for them! I love the preset menus, but I guess this means I'll have to select items to order?

Your not alone..the only ones I like are the Turkey Chili (actually my fav JC Meal) and the Sweet and Sour chicken, other than that yuck to the others. the cookout beans and chicken are horrible.. but I have actually made my own for my MOMO one time and it came out so good, very simple too. Yup, not crazy about the shelf stable food either.

So glad to hear I'm not the only one! I've been on JC less than 3 weeks. I think my first shipment of food only had 1 shelf-stable meat. I was pretty impressed with the food initially. The second shipment is probably half shelf stable and I am so disappointed! I'm doing great on the program and I don't want to be derailed by disgusting food- especially when I enjoyed the frozen food so much.

Hi,

I am having the beef and chili tonight.Has anyone had that before?

I usually don't like stuff in a can but I'm hoping it's not too bad.

Thx

Terri

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Cookout Chicken & Beans. I shred the chicken and mix all together and pretend I am having pulled pork in my favorite Barbeque restaurant! I also enjoy the Lentils and Beef and Turkey Chili.

I think the southwest chicken/rice is pretty good. Add hot sauce and some fat free sour cream and it is yummy and filling. Hate the canned chix salads.

Agreed. I hate the shelf stable food and refused to spend on money on it. We just went over the menu and made some switches. it was not a big deal to my J.C.C. She actually agreed with me.

I love love love the chicken salad, tuna salad and beef chili. I can eat them every day (and in fact I do eat the chicken or tuna salad every day). I just can't get enough of them. I add cheese (2 ounce for my dairy serving) and hot peppers to the chili, along with onions, it is fantastic.

The rest of the shelf stable foods are awful. I had the beef and potatoes, there was maybe 1 ounce of beef in there. Not sure how they get away with calling it beef and potatoes.

I was highly suspicious of the Swedish Meatballs after everything I read on here. Well... guess what? ... I added some FF sour cream to it and, I actually liked it. Enough that I will order it again.

Chicken salad also scared me... look too much like cat food. BUT, I promised myself I would try everything once (at least 1 bite)... go figure, I actually liked it! LOL... Glad I decided to try it afterall.

Funny how we have different tastes.
