Hi I thought the PLEASE HELP would get your attention and I hope it worked :-)

I am a lifetime member when they had it. I'm glad the option was there when I joined way back when. I originally lost 55lbs on this program and then went about my life. I've gained back 40lbs at least 4 times since then and lost through various other programs. The cheapest was the "divorce diet" laugh.gif
Back in 2008 I tried JC again and really didn't put my heart and soul into it as I did when I lost the 55lbs.
Recently I lost on a VLC (very Low calorie - 500 calories) diet and swore I'd never EVER gain it again. I had surgery couldn't exercise you know the story and here I sit 30lbs gained. I'm 61 I'm tired of gaining loosing gaining etc. I called the center today and am trying to get an appointment to start JC. Unless the philosophy of JC has changed, I know the majority of the counselors are not ones who have had to loose weight or even know what it's like to be where I sit so I am looking to this blog/ board site for support. I am surely going to need it!
Thanks for listening!

Laura! {{{CAVALRY ON THE WAY!!!}}}

Not only am I returning client, I am 64 years old. I have lost on just about every diet/eating plan known to man, and this is the only one that works consistently for me. Why is that? Because Jenny offers BALANCED nutrition, reasonable calorie consumption (seriously, 500 calories would put you into extreme ketosis), and encourages us to move and keep moving!

{{Warning: Boredom alert for those who know my story}}

I lost 119 pounds on JC back in 2004-2005. I got burned out before I hit maintenance, and dropped out completely (my BIGGEST mistake on this program). Although I was burned out, I had learned several important lessons: making sure I got 2 milks a day (including yogurt), 2 fruits a day, and eating every 3 hours. I managed to keep off close to 80 pounds of that over the ensuing 4 years. Then, the bottom fell out - my beloved husband (The Bear) passed away in November of 2008, I lost my sister in December, had to put my female greyhound down in March, had a colitis attack in October, endured an intestinal arterial by-pass surgery in November (the reason for the colitis), and had my appendix out in January of 2010. I set this all up to say that LIFE GOT IN THE WAY. I gained some weight from a combination of food restrictions and having to abandon my trips to the Y because The Bear was no longer around to care for our greyhounds. I returned to JC the day after Labor Day, when I retired, and I have lost the 36 pounds I set out to lose. I began walking, then jogging, and now I do Billy Blanks' Tae Bo.

You can do it! I am living proof that us post-menapausal women can manage to take off weight and exercise! I have cardio-vascular issues, but it doesn't stop me from getting my exercise, and (most importantly) I FEEL GREAT.

Welcome back. Let me know if I can help.

LOVE, JILL

Jill - I could never get bored with your story. You are inspirational to all of us here.

Laura - keep coming back to the boards. You don't need to post every day but read all the different categories. I find those in the 100+ groups so inspirational. BTW, I will be 62 on Friday and have lost and gained the same weight at least 3 times. I've been on maintenance for 7 months now and have not gained any of back nor do I plan to. I'm in it for life and will always be on program! I don't think of this as a diet where I want to lose x amount of weight. This is a lifestyle change where I seen my cholesterol as well as my weight drop. My doctor is thrilled with my progress. Do it for health!
Leslie - Lazy Zebra

First Goal - 145 lbs - Met 8/10/2010. Lost 24 pounds in 16 weeks, Average 1.5 lbs/week
Second Goal - Zap those last 10 pounds!!

Whether you say "I can" or "I can't", you're right!

I, too, bought a life time membership in the '90s and am very glad I did. I lost 150 pounds the 1st time and gain back 50 to 70 pounds more than once. I returned to JC and lost them again. Our center has more than one staff member who need to lose a lot of weight. I need the motivation of weighing in each week. There really is no set program any more with meetings as there once were. The food tastes good, but is way over priced IMO.

Howdy All - I am 63 YO began JC June '09 @ THREE HUNDRED NINETY EIGHT POUNDS & today I am kissing the scale ready to have lost 200 pounds. At first it was sort of difficult, not bad just depressing wondering if I could actually lose so much fat ... Well, I still have 80ish to go <Gads!> but might as well go for it now.

So please hang in there - as many others have said before me "if I can do it, so can YOU"
