Yes before.. all the experts say to have a small snack of good carbs before and a protein based meal after. I like to have an orange before working out and then I will have either my lunch or my dinner depending on the time I work out. I added an ounce of protein to my meal after working out because after working out I was getting really tired.

I agree. . .well, it depends. But if I am 'just walking' I'd rather do it after so that I don't get that post-meal sleepy feeling. When I workout or run, I do it before - definitely. I couldn't do a hard workout on a fully tummy, but for me a walk is all together different.
Either way, good job getting some steps in during the workday!!
