Hi everyone! I see that most of the posts in this forum are old. Is there anyone else out there that needs to lose 200 plus pounds. My name is Ruby and my current weight is 353.6 lbs. I'd like to get down to 125-150. I started my weight loss journey at 377 and lost 10 lbs. in 6 months so I decided to join Jenny for the support. Since joining Jenny (3 weeks ago) I have lost an additional 12 lbs.

I have a total of 117 lbs to lose and lost 28.6 of it so far... 12 lbs in 3 weeks is AWESOME! I am glad to see you join JC and believe you will be very happy you did. Everyone here is very supportative and will help with any questions you have. As you will notice everyone here are all at different weight ranges...

Hi there!
I'm out here, and I feel that we are in the same boat even though I don't have quite as much to lose as you do... Weight is weight and I was obese!
I have lost almost 50 lbs. after a year on JC but then I am on a lot of medications which make any weight loss very slow for me. You will probably lose faster than I have, unless you are on a lot of medicines for depression, as I am. -Just be patient with yourself!!! The very best exercise is swimming, if you can. Next best, is walking. Try 5 min. per day and work up to 10 min. per day and so on... It is hard to breathe and move when you are so overweight... I do remember!!!!!
At our mall the stores open at 10 AM, but from 6:30 AM until 10 AM ONLY people who want to come into the mall to walk for exercise are there (for free). Call your local mall's office and see if they don't have a similar arrangement. I still need to lose another 30-50 lbs. and walking at the mall is usually my only exercise. -Exercise will help you lose faster. Now, I also play mini golf, sometimes, too. Plus, do laundry.
Don't get discouraged!!! If you are depressed, go get your toenails painted a bright, pretty color and also treat yourself to a wash and style with lots of pretty curls, even. -Don't go to food for comfort. It only makes you gain, as I have found out...
Until next time,
Hugs,
flowering

HRNINJA: You can do it! I am living proof - and I AM 64 YEARS OLD!!! I am on an antidepressant (from which I am weaning myself with the doctor's observations), and I managed to lose close to 40 pounds this go round (having put some back on after my initial loss of 119 pounds).

Exercise is key to fitness. Weight loss is a direct function of calories in and calories out. The eating plan of Jenny Craig is the most important part at this stage for you. But, you need to get moving. Take a walk. Go out your front door, turn one way or the other, and just walk. Start out 5 minutes in one direction and back; keep moving the "goal post" further away, achieve it, then move the goal post again. YOU CAN DO IT!

Keep us posted.
