Team,

Yes I have been MIA past few days so sorry. between the full time job, full time school, the gym, my trainer and I guess I can let the cat out of the bag..... dating again - my plate is full.

I have also been organizing something at work that means so much to me. My companies participation in the heart walk in Boston. My dad had open heart surgery in April and May and is currently living with me while he recoups..... I was motivated to lose my weight due to this scare with him, not sure how many bumps will be in my journey, but for now.... its been strict focus. I became a captain for this walk in Sept. It's just all so important to me.I am excited to be doing something for the Heart Association.

Leslie, We have those episodes when we fall of the wagon, it runs us over, then backs up over us again.... it is inevitable. What I suggest as a former JC consultant, is revisit why you want to do this. What is it about getting to that goal you set that excited you, now how has that changed? OR HAS IT? Pull out old pics, reset your goals. It's ok... You are going to get through this. We are here to help you however you need us to. (I know I speak for the Summit & Iditarod teams)

I will keep checking in. Hope everyone is well

Thanks Francine. I needed to hear all of that. I'm still struggling and haven't been exercising, but I'm trying to change my mindset. It's just been a tough couple of weeks.

I tallied my steps and I have about 5k left to go before finishing. I haven't gotten in more than about 5k steps daily since I haven't been doing any activity...I have been ignoring my armband and afraid to sync up cause I knew it wouldn't look good. Oh well...should have the last summit completed by tomorrow!

C'mon Purple Team....let's bring it on home!

Lisa - how are you doing out there? We haven't heard from you in awhile!

Gekko - where are you? Are you still tracking those steps? Keep up the good work!

LadyBugg - you and I need to finish Everest - we can do it! Let's cross that finish line together.

Green Team - only 10 more summits left combined to complete. You guys are so close! Keep posting your progress.

We have 8 days left....will one of our teams cross the finish line together by then?? biggrin.gif

Don't be afraid Leslie, this is not about being perfect...this is about making long term changes...it's not a short term thing where you can gut it out because you know you need to follow the program for a finite amount of time. This is for life...so occasionally you're going to fall off the wagon (and I think that sometimes that's healthy to do)....as long as you get back on. That's the important thing.

So sync that armband...and it doesn't matter what it says for yesterday, it's only today that counts:)

Mt. Everest and this challenge and done for me! WOO HOO!!!

I also lost 1.6 pounds this week at my WI today, however since I had gained weight a couple of weeks back, I'm actually now back down to where I was before my Yosemite trip.

sorry to have been awol - but I finished Everest midweek - and so one more finished for the Purple team! Yay!

I have been struggling with overeating so much, 2 weeks now, cannot seem to reign my appetite in. Breakfast & lunch are OK, but afternnon to evening I am hungry and not for salad....Mostly overeating 100 cal packs, small choices from fast food, etc - but it is adding up to either no losses or small gains at WI.
My new office is sucking the life out of me - energy & time - even though I enjoy the challenge it seems my coping mechanism is food (go figure). I am basically maintaining but scared even that will fall apart if i can't shake things up and get back on track. Sorry to be a bummer.

Grateful for this step challenge as my workdays are only 4-5000 w/out adding in activity - so even being inspired to walk up and down extra aisles in the grocery store helps!

I fear the Iditarod - try for Dec 31 2011!
Blessings,

Ladybug

YAY Ladybugg for finishing! Good job! What is so challenging about the new job? Is there anyway to turn your thinking around into a positive challenge rather than energy-sucking difficulties? Not sure on the specifics, but I totally understand wanting to turn to food during times of stress and anxiety. Glad to hear this challenge has been helping you with your activity levels...and never fear the Iditarod! We are all in it TOGETHER!!!! (Hope you have a good, warm parka available. LOL)

Nieve - you are in the home stretch! You CAN do it!

I can't wait to start up the new challenge board on Friday. biggrin.gif I think I will start a new one each month as the lists can get pretty long. I'm thinking we will throw out some extra exercise challenges that aren't steps, but will COUNT for steps, for those really wanting to tackle it!

Hey everyone! Here's where this challenge stands.

PURPLE TEAM:
Gekko - 1 summit left!
Lisa - 3 summits left! (where did you go Lisa??)

GREEN TEAM:
Dietmama - 4 summits left!
Tersod - 4 summits left!

Gekko is in the home stretch and about to finish. Since we haven't heard from the other 3 challengers in awhile, we may have to call this a PURPLE TEAM WIN!!!!!!

If you want to continue with the camaraderie, fun and accountability, check out the new Iditarod Challenge beginning today!
