Today I joined Jenny. Not sure if I can do it, but want to try. I need to lose about 80 lbs, but set a goal of 20 for now just to see if I can do this program. Any advice is welcome.

I just started Monday 5/16. The food seems to be keeping me full, but I definatly need to figure out how to make my vegetables taste better.

Welcome! Since I cannot drink the milk, I bring large salads to work with (loose leaf lettuce, tomates, and cucumbers and tuna salad w/mayo and onions. It makes my veggies taste better and fulfills the protein quota.

I find that it keeps me full during the day (I eat more at work because I am usually stressed) and I also ensure that I have the required amount of veggies. This may also work for you even if you choose chicken or salmon as your topping.

I hope this helps.

You can totally do this. I joined about 11 weeks ago and just like always I had more doubts than anything. I am losing it slowly but I have lost 18.4 lbs and thats amazing considering I have such a long way to go. I am now down 1 size in pants. May I suggest Garlic Herb & Pepper for Veggies. It helps!

Heyyy FitDiva,

Me and you are in the same boat, I need to loose about 85lbs. We have a long journey but we can do it!
It's good to make your first goal 20lbs gone, if you weight 220 like me thats 10% gone which gives you a Healthier Heart.

By losing just 10 percent of your body weight, you can lower your cholesterol and reduce your blood pressure, High cholesterol and elevated blood pressure are two major risk factors for heart disease.

So, good choice!
Good luck!

Welcome to all of the newbies! :) We're so happy you're here. You'll find lots of support, advice and just commiseration because we're all on the same path or we've achieved maintenance are working hard to stay there.

You'll find this to be the easiest plan you've ever been on and unlike most diets, this will not only help you to lose weight (I lost 45 lbs.) but will help you to learn a new way to look at food for the rest of your life.

Come to the boards often. We want to know how you are finding the program.

I put up an image of what I WILL look like by Christmas 2011. I am looking forward to it. People are already saying I have lost weight in my face. :) I am also learning how to go out once a week and not blow my weight loss. We had a friend fly in last night and took her to Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes, CA. We sat at the fire pits overlooking the ocean and had beer and salmon salad. Didn't over do it and had cut back earlier that day to allow for the extra calories. We had a great time talking to people from all over the country and it felt really good to get out!

Good for you! Learning to stay on track even when you go off plan is a great learning tool that will help you especially when you go on maintenance.

Of course you're still new to the program so try to restrict those off plan nights for now OR talk to your JCC BEFORE you go out for an evening. It will really help you to focus and understand the exchanges and where you can "save" calories for an evening splurge and where you can't. :)

I'm not sure if it is your Avatar that is your planned body for Christmas, but it sure would be a nice one to have at Christmas or anytime! ;)

Rosa, Welcome to Jenny! Glad you posted. I'm sure with a one year old that your life is pretty busy. BUT ... You can do this. Many of the members have been through the program, met their goal and are maintaining. I am working towards a 75 pound loss, so I know it won't come off quickly, but I am determined to keep on program.
Just follow your menu and continue to post. We love to hear how you are doing!

Hi Everyone! I'm new, I just joined today!

I have 67.5 lbs to lose and so far... I'm hungry. I'm so used to eating pasta and 'comfort foods' that fill you up. Shrinking my stomach is going to be quite the challenge. How long before you guys were not hungry anymore?

Hi LelaBelle - give it a week or two to let your body get used to the amount and type of foods. Don't forget you can volumize your meals with lots of non starchy veggies. It's a great way to feel ful.

Also - don't forget about water - at least 8 glasses a day. It's amazing how it can fill you up and satisfy you - I flavor mine with MIO - it does not add any calories, fat, etc.

Welcome Lelabelle! Great to have you posting with us on the boards....this is a fabulous place for support!!!

As far as the hunger....It'll last a few days, then you will adjust...no worries.....its just your body throwing a tantrum, so to speak. lol.

hope to see posting again soon! oh btw, jc has quite a few pasta entree's that are delish....and from reading your status update, you want some mac/cheese.....jc has that too!...and its VERY good  So get you some of both, they are satisifying.
