CAN YOU BELIEVE WE ARE IN WEEK 10 of the SURVIVOR WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE??

My...how time flies!

Last week's Mini-Challenge goal was a great one! If you haven't yet determined what your non-food rewards will be for yourself, make sure to post this week so that we can keep the energy and enthusiasm going!

A couple of week's back, we were reminded to KISS (Keep It Simple Sexy!) Ok...I changed the last word... biggrin.gif

So that's what this week's Mini-Challenge Goal is all about: KISS
Work the plan, don't fight the plan.

It sounds so simple. Stay on the meal plan, whichever one you have chosen, increase and track your activity, maintain a calorie deficit daily, log all of your food eaten, and drink lots of water.

Take it one day at a time. Sometimes we get caught looking into the future so often, we don't live in the moment. Think about this moment...do I need to eat that? Can I go for a quick walk or do some crunches? Seize every moment you can and fill that moment with what WORKS. The Jenny Craig plan. And let's see where that takes us for this week's weigh in.

GOOD LUCK everyone!

SURVIVOR is coming to an end soon...we can ALL do this ladies! And you bet we will start up a new challenge after this one is over.

Have an AWESOME week everyone!!!
~ Leslie

Great idea Leslie, back to basics.
It's a very good time for me to re-focus.

Hi Leslie and gang,

It sounds like a great challenge. I have really been struggling this past few weeks to get past this plateau I'm on. I seem to get right to this weight then struggle to push past it. I am thinking about changing my WI date to Thursday so I am not struggling so much with the weekend after effects. I also feel like I need to just get back to the basics. On the up side, I went back to my bootcamp class on Saturday morning after being away for almost 6 months. It felt great to be pushed so hard (even though I was very sore on Sunday morning laugh.gif ). I am weighing in tonight and plan to talk to my JCC to see if she thinks a Thursday WI would be a better choice for me. We will also be measuring inches so I'm hoping the tape tells the story cuz the scale has been absolutely stuck in one place.

Have a great week,

Lisa

I like the goal of going back to the basics. It is SOOOO easy to get caught in the future that I fly through the day sometimes and I forget stuff. So back to basics it is...water, exercise, stay on food plan, and have an escape plan for problem times. One day at a time...Happy Tuesday everyone!

Hi ladies!
Love going back to basics too. I'm going to have to focus on water and food for now though.
My oldest has been sick since Friday and it has been impossible to do any exercise. Poor thing had a fever as high as 104.9 two nights ago. They think it might be strep and we finally got some antibiotics yesterday so hopefully she will be turning the bend soon. I can't believe it's almost 9am and she's still sleeping!

Hope you all have a great week!
Marta

Hey dietmama? How's the little one doing today? On the mend I hope!

I did training run number 2 last night...35 minutes (managed a 12 min mile pace...but in my defense I'm bulit more for endurance than speed and it was hilly:)

So far I've been sticking to my plan (I've never followed the set menu...always customized breakfast and lunch and do my own dinners). I'm being very good about keeping my 1000 target deficit...hopefully it shows on the scale on Monday. It would be all kinds of fantastic if I can get down to the 160s by Memorial Day weekend;)

I'm seeing lots of great updates on the board....keep up the good work everyone!

Cheers,
Ang.

Had been doing well up untill late Wednesday. Water good, food plan good (missed a few fuits and snacks but basically good), and exercise good. Now I'm nauseas, with fever and a bad headache. Doctor thinks its a virus that will pass, but now everything has come to a grinding halt. Just don't have energy to do much and I feel all cooped up! Hopefully the scale will brighten up my day tomorrow.

Hi ladies!

Oh Darby! I feel for you! I hope you will get better soon. I'm sure the scale will make you smile tomorrow. It sounds like you were doing great.

Ang, thanks for asking about my little one. She's doing much better after a tough week. Now the little one got sick so it begins all over again. My father is also in the hospital and was even in ICU for several days and Thank God he is OK but I was stressed because I couldn't visit him since the girls were so sick and the doctors thought I was a germ ship. Hopefully I'll get a chance to spend some time with him on Sunday when he gets released.

I'm rooting for you btw. 160s for Memorial Day sounds like a dream! Keep up the great work.

My week has been agh to say the least. I have been 100% JC on food and water but of course have not had a second to work out. I tip my hats off to everyone that works out after a full day of work. Every night this week, I've said I would go after putting the girls to bed but it's just been impossible. I finally got my first workout in this morning after my DH decided to stay home and take care of the little one so I could sprint to get a run in.

Hope you all have great weekends coming up!

Marta

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a group, we have COLLECTIVELY LOST 85.4 pounds in 10 weeks!!!!! That's amazing everyone! And I think it is actually a lot more than that, because I think some may not have posted all of the losses every week. I have a few "holes" in my spreadsheet. biggrin.gif

Anyway.....the results are as follows - It was a CLOSE RACE!

BLUE TEAM - collectively lost -41.00 pounds! They racked up 10 mini-challenge points, so their final score was 51. Congratulations to the Blue Team members:
  • LoseItIn2011
  • Leslie74
  • Djanson24
  • LisaBilz

RED TEAM
- collectively lost -44.4 pounds! They racked up 18 mini-challenge points, so their final score was 62.4. Congratulations to the Red Team members:
  • dietmama
  • Darbyk
  • All-in-Ang
  • Ladybug

So that means that the RED TEAM won the SURVIVOR Weight Loss Challenge over the course of 10 weeks!! Congratulations Red Team! GREAT JOB!!!

WOW we did good! Good job working thru all of our challenges and making progress on our goals.

I am back from Cuba - LOVED Cuba - and immersed in major office reorganization and absolutely swamped at work - so glad I had that week off to rejuvenate so i could hit the ground running. When we booked in January had no idea I would be transferred offices! God is good and His timing is perfect.

I had recorded Survivor - so glad to see Rob win - woohoo!

I was up 2.8 on WI upon return - will confess right now this week has not been the best, working so many hours but feeling very good overall and looking forward to getting back to basics next week (I know, I know - a tad late .... smile.gif )

Looking forward to climbing those summits with you all and will join new challenge tomorrow.

Blessings,

Ladybug

Hi red team and blue team,

Not sure if anyone is still reading this thread, but I hope so. Just wanted to say sorry for flaking at the end of the challenge. I've been in such a funk...depressed...and using food (unfortunately) to handle life's challenges. Felt awful about everything going on and I just got in a pity party and wasn't open for encouragement. Don't know what the final results were, but I'm sure everyone did great. Sorry once again!

Hello Darbyk! glad you gave us an update and sorry you are/were in such a funk. Never forget this is a journey, and we sometimes hit obstacles and have setbacks because guess what: we are not perfect and life is not fair - bummer, huh? Anyways, how can we quit this journey? we can't we just stay longer where we should have moved on sometimes!
Have you ever eaten food for comfort? Are you overweight? So what are you gonna do about it - close your eyes and eat some more because you are so upset about your weight (amongst other things, not saying it is just the weight)?
Please join us on the 7 summits thread - we are still on week 1 apparently LOL. Just start logging your steps now and post with us! We need you to walk the walk with us - support from someone who knows is so crucial.

Glad you are back!
Blessings,

Ladybug

Hi Darby,

We have all been there, I think that's why this forum is so important. We can and do support each other through the challenges that life throws at us. Every day is a new day, remember that on those days when you feel overwhelmed. If you are ever looking for somebody to talk to, you can always drop me a line. I have been where you were, and sometimes it's ok to throw a pity party, just don't let it last longer than that single day.
