Wldgrl, I tend to buy things like that too – I don’t think it’s hoarding or OCD – I think you hit it when you said it’s left-over from your mom’s era. My mom was the same way – when she had to give up her apartment, we must have found about 30 cans of fruit cocktail in her cupboard.
Even being on JC I tend to overbuy they things I use on the plan.

I have 3 weeks left of my summer of maintenance – and I’m gearing up to start losing the last 20 lbs that I want to. Hopefully I can get the losing mindset back and get on track. I do feel that it was a good exercise to maintain this summer – I had my wi yesterday and was the same as when I told my JCC that I was going to pause my losing for the summer. It’s giving me confidence that when I do get to goal that I can keep it off this time.

Hello to all from Texas! I joined JC on 7-29 and my first day to begin my "new journey" was 8-1-2011.
The first Week I lost 4-lbs. and my 2nd week I lost a whopping 1-lb. My counselor said not to get discouraged, but I was really looking for a much higher lose as the first week. But was it enough to push me in the opposite direction?? Heck no! I started this journey and I will certainly stick it out until I have seen all 605-lbs. off this 5'3" body. The food seems to be quite amazing compared to some of the other diets that I have gleefully participated in over my vast 50-something years of life, which is really a relief. I did wonder about the soupitizers. Are they mandatory or optional? One question if I may ask...how or where do you get those cute pound ticker off-ers?
Have a Bless Day and thanks for starting this site and being willing to share!

Hi prehart! Congratulations on your weight loss - you are doing just fine. I lost 6.5 pounds in the first month - wanted it to be more but I realized I am a slow loser so I just accepted it and decided to be happy that I am losing not gaining.
The soupitizers are optional - I don't buy them because I live in Florida and can't imagine having soup in the summer.
The weight loss trackers can be found here:

Best of luck to you!

B)I'm Kellie and day one. I feel like my kids on the first day of school. I have tried some crazy diets including a weight loss clinic. While I lost the weight fast it found me as fast as soon as I hit my goal. I knew the "pills" could not be good for me and was learning nothing about a healthy lifestyle moving forward.
I am hopeful to create some lasting habits, lose some weight and start feeling better. I'm stretched as a single mom with teens, change of life, an aging mom and demanding job...pheww. I would not change a thing however need my energy and confidence to keep it all together.

Thanks Scrapebook Queen for kicking off this forum for people like me to grow, learn and be just me.

Welcome Kellie. You will find a lot of like minded people on this forum.

Work the program and it will work for you!!

Hi all fabulous 50ers!

I'm into my second week with much more optimism than last week. Had my second weighin on Monday and had a 1.4# loss. No big jump there but my food choices were all over the map and I wasn't following a planned menu. I missed some breakfasts, and snacks, too.

This week it's gonna be cereal, salad kits, and fish. There are so many food choices and I don't do well with all the variety.

It's been 2 years since I've been around and I'm glad to be back!

Hi Everyone!
Just checking in on everyone's progress! I'm going out of maintenance mode next week - and off to start losing my last 20 lbs. I am proud that I was able to go through the entire summer using JC foods and MOMO as well as DOMO to maintain my loss all summer. Now to tackle the last of this weight and to lifetime maintenance.

Have a good day everyone!!

I started Jenny a month ago and have lost 8.9 lbs to be exact. Of course, I wanted it to be more also. But as long as the scales are going down, I am happy. I've gone down a size in clothes also. Which makes me very happy. Anything other than weight gain is good to me! If I could just remember to drink water I would be all right.

Happy Saturday Fabulous 50's!

Seems that I started this thread, then disappeared. :( I've been so busy and if I had to be totally honest with myself, not doing 100% with my program. I've been struggling. I should be at my goal by now but in fact, still 18 or so pounds away. I used to be great at losing weight but really sucked at maintaining. Now, I'm doing a GREAT job maintaining when I'm not ready for that.

Anyway, I decided that I really do need the support of these boards so I am making an effort to stop in a few times a week. :)

I see that there are so many posts and I am going to go back and read them all......so I can get to know what's happening and all the "woo hoo's" you've had.

So this post is to re-intoduce myself and here's to much more success for all of us! :)

I know what you mean, I find myself maintaining the weight I've lost with the last 5 diets I've been on. Lose 10 lbs and then slowly gain it back. Lose 10 lbs then slowly gain it back. This time I am going to go below the 10 lb mark and watch it slowly go down the scale instead of back up. How bout that!

Hi, All 50-ers,

I am fairly new to JC. Started the last week of Oct. and am losing slowly but surely ... little by little. I am 8.5 lbs down so far and definitely can feel my body "deflating" instead of going the "other" way. Initially, although the weight was coming off slooowly, at the same time I can say that the inches have been coming off quite dramatically which is nice!

I can relate to alot of what I've read by others in this thread. Before starting JC, I was just watching that scale go up and up and I knew I was in trouble. My eating habits were very bad though, esp. the night or evening snacking. Even at work, where I too, (such as what "Debbie" ? posted) am stuck behind a desk doing computer work. Been working overtime which just meant MORE sitting and of course, you get home exhausted and just want to sit it out!

BUT, here I am trying to put myself first for a change. I am excited as to relearning my relationship with food, and portion sizes etc. but I do have to admit, as one other lady posted, the cost is DAUNTING! So, I really want this to work and work for good ! I am interested in knowing how one transgresses from the personalized meals on to the MOMO's ? Any insight into this is appreciated. I just recently ordered my first personalized meals for the month which will cover me from wk 5 thru 8.

Thanks for any posts. I didn't see much activity on this thread recently. Maybe it's that 50's thing. I'm not a big "chatter" but a visit once in a while I can wing ! :D
Good luck to all of us !

Actually there are a bunch of us in our 40s, 50s, and 60s. Most of us post on the GENERAL forum, however, so you might want to check there instead of on this thread.

Congrats on the loss of both inches and pounds! You're doing great! :)

And I hope you do post more often. Folks who are more "lurkers" than "posters" have said that they found it actually more helpful to actually join in on the discussions, post their own issues, ask questions, etc. rather than just reading. So hope you'll let us support you on this journey. :)
