Hope there are still a couple of of over 60 gals still here. I am a life member of JC. I first joined the program when my kids were young (oldest is now 37) and JC was relatively new to the scene. After trying every other program out there, I tried Jenny and loved the program. The food was good and the people connected with Jenny were so supportive. Back then the program was so different with better support and group meetings and counseling with a nutritionist. But, the program worked for me.
Losing was never the problem - it was maintaining the lose that gets me in the end.
At my heaviest I weighed 254 lbs. and got to my goal of 154 lbs. It took me a long time, but I was not rushing things.
My husband of 38 years travels a lot and I usually go with him. My problem began when we started spending more time in South Carolina after living in Florida for 10 years. I was more active in Florida and the food choices were healthier there. Most foods are fried in SC - delicious, but too fattening and really played havoc with my intestinal problems.
I went to the doctor on February 5 and weighed in at 174 lbs. I was leaving on a cruise in a couple of days and was so unhappy that I was going away wearing a size 12 jeans when I had once gotten down to a size 6! I was determined to lost 10 lbs. on the trip. We were away for 5 weeks and when I came home I re-joined JC with a starting weight of 159.8. The first week I lost 4 lbs. and I was thrilled! Today I went for my second weigh in and the scale was stuck at 155.8. I AM UNSET - I followed the program EXACTLY, drank all my water, exercised (25 minutes most days) and did not eat out at all. I think I am losing inches but am frustrated that I did not lose this week. This never happened on JC before. I usually hit a plateau after a month on the program. I do know that I lower this goal to 144 lbs. this time.
I wear a size 8/10 jeans now and my husband said I am doing great, but I wish the scale would move.
Also, I purchased the arm band monitor and faithfully record everything I eat daily. HELP!!!!!
By the way I am Marsha, I will be 64 the end of May and have 6 grandkids.

I am a "lifetime"member too. I bought the lifetime program in 1992. Yes, the program was great then, I lost the weight. But I have yoyo'ed ever since then.
I am back on Jenny again now.
I too now hit plateaus I never hit in the past.
I just turned 60.
Going from 167 back down to 125. I am 4 feet 11 inches.
Sending love to you all,
Trope

Trope, welcome back! And welcome to the boards! I hope you'll come here often to discuss your journey back down on the scale. You have A LOT of us here to support you.
And, yes, although it sucks, the older the we get, the more difficult it is. I'm 62 and recently returned to lose the 10 lbs. I regained and it took MUCH longer than I would have thought or hoped but it did happen. (My original weight loss was 45 lbs.).
Part of it is our age and some of it is our often lack of activity. I'm not sure what you're doing in regard to exercise and making sure you drink enough but that will definitely help.
On the other hand, my thinking is that this is the way I have to look at food for the rest of my life so if it took me a bit longer to lose than I would have liked, so be it. I wasn't going to stress out about it because it's all part of the process and the longer it took the more I was able to remind myself of the lessons I originally learned about how to eat properly.
Anyway, glad you're here and hope to see you again and often.
