I wonder how many more clients are out there struggling with hypothyroidism and trying to lose the extra weight put on as a result?

Hi, I have Grave's, then had reversal treatment and now I am hypothyroid. When I was hyperthyroid, the weight was melting off, not so much now. Yes, it is a struggle, weight loss is very possible, but it tends to be slower. Just stick with it, follow the JC program, consult your JC consultant regularly, and the scale will start moving downward. Probably not as fast as we would like it, but, actually, slower weight loss is better for our bodies. I wish you well! rolleyes.gif

That sounds like a good idea. I have hypothyroidism as well. It's really hard on me that I can't lose weight as fast as I want to. I have my weigh in tomorrow and I really feel like I won't have lost much at all. At times it makes it feel like a pointless struggle. But the little change in the positive direction keeps me hopeful, as do my goals.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was about 12 because I went from being the skinniest kid in class to the heaviest in one school year. I am glad my mom caught it early. I never really gained much more weight from that point on because the doctors kept my levels good. In fact, I think I was basically the same weight, just grew in height until college. (150ish). After college I lost my insurance and didn't realize how much going off my meds would affect me. But in less than a year I gained 70+ pounds. When I finally got back on the meds I my weight gain stopped but I could never drop the weight. Two kids later, I could always lose my baby weight, but once I got to the rest it was like I hit a wall both times. I am slowly inching back down. Slowly is the word I don't like...but at least it is happening this time!

Well I am living proof you CAN lose weight while being hypothyroid. Granted it is slower, but totally do-able.

It takes total dedication and perseveranve thats for sure.......but we CAN do it!!!!!!!!
