Scale Frustration

It was working well until this past week. I got weights that were stubbornly staying high despite my activity levels. So I figured I was plateauing.
My weigh in at JC was a shocker because despite my weight watchers scale misreading, I had actually lost 2.8 pounds. Good news, yes. But now I am going crazy.
I went home and decided to weigh myself on my scale to see if I got the same reading. My WW scale said I gained 6 pounds!!!! Six pounds in under an hour? Dang... O_o That is some fattening air I was breathing!
So now I am going nuts trying to figure out what is wrong with it. Every time I step on it, it gives me a different reading. I can vary from 3 to 6 pounds from my JC weigh in within the same day.
Now I am even starting to question if I was standing correctly on the scale at the JC office...maybe I didn't lose that weight?
So I have decided that I am just not going to touch that scale! I will change the battery even though it is practically brand new. I haven't changed anything and I won't, I will keep following my plan. Needless to say, I can't wait for my next weigh in to verify that I actually lost the weight!!
I hate that this has caused me to focus so heavily on the number. The number never mattered before, just as long as I lost something. Now I have no idea what I weigh!!!!

I have a Conair WW scale that I have had for at least four years and it is amazingly accurate---pretty much EXACTLY the same as the JC scale, every time. It only cost me about $25, on sale. But if I don't have all four feet placed squarely on a solid surface I'll get erratic readings.
If the nutty weights continue after changing the battery and making sure you're on a solid hard surface I would bring the scale back to the store and demand an exchange or a refund.

Willpower Definition
Willpower is the inner strength to make decisions, take action and handle and execute an aim or a task, regardless of inner resistance, discomfort or difficulty or external influences. It is inner firmness, decisiveness, determination, resolution, persistence and the power to push towards any goal.
